The car on pictures is told to be a Fioravanti-bodied F430... To be launched in Paris?

It won't be 'launched'...it's a one-off customer car.

.....Strangely, Kind of Sexy.

I'd have one.

So it actually is a Fioravanti-made F430?

Much better looking than the standard car in my eyes. This is what the original 430 should have looked like... Still not as good looking as a Lambo/Aston/R8, but compared to the F430, it's lovely.

It could be the first of the new customization program. Fioravanti penned some of the greatest Ferraris, and this looks a fitting tribute to the relationship between the two.

It looks fine from the rear to the front wheel arch but the actual front of the car doesnt look that good, it just doesnt say Ferrari to me when i look at the front

I look forward to better (ie bigger) pictures but I think its a good looking machine.

I don't like the black area by the rear wheel, it gives the appearance of a strange body shape. I think it'd look better if that part was the same color as the rest of the car.

even though this'll be the customer car, it's not that it can't be launched anywhere. P4/5 was at presented at paris, 612 kappa at villa d'este etc. though i'm quite sure that car won't be launched at paris show, because it may outshine the star of ferrari california ;)

It may be present on Fioravanti stand, if they will arrive...

Front looks a bit like a Tesla roadster IMO. Still quite nice though.

The styling works because of the black area, that's why it's there.

i'm still not convinced ferrari would allow that...

i'm still not convinced ferrari would allow that...

they stated there would be an ufficial customization program in response to those previous works as the 612 K, 612 P4/5 and 575 GTZ, and just a few coachbuilder would be allowed to take part to this program. Fioravanti is a previous Ferrari designer, so it isn't so hard to believe, as Wouter said above.
finally, the track where those pics are taken is the Fiorano Race Track, Ferrari's own private circuit, while the first three pics of post #14 are taken at one of the rear access of Ferrari's factory.

that should be the P3 converted to P4...but I didn't get the correlation between it and the 430 Fioravanti

i'm not talking about that. i'm fully positive that's a one-off from official programme, i know about it and in fact i know more than the rest about it thanks to a talk with one of insiders :p

what i'm not convinced about though it'll be presented on paris auto show, though i'd be extremely pleased if it were there, as i'm attending to it

Love it. Between P4/5, 575 GTZ, 612 K, Rolls-Royce Hyperion and this we are reentering a glorious age of custom coachwork.

You should add the limited edition of the Bentley GTZ, Diatto Ottovù and the never-born Spyker C12 Zagato. and than there is the Faralli&Mazzanti coachbuilder, maybe their first creation, the Antas, wasn't a completely good looking car, but you can use whatever car with front engine and rear wheels drive, and they would built a brand new bodywork and interior, based on your requests and involving you in the process.

doh...do the Castagna Aznom and the SpadaVettureSport count? even Studiotorino should be considered. it's a damn good moment for car enthusiasts, if you have money...but at least we have something unique and sometimes beautiful to look at.
I would add also the Reventòn, even if official, even if too much expensive.

mobiel's 599 GTO creation should be added to the list :)

I prefer the regular 430 or scuderia, this one just looks like a fancy bodykit and the rear looks awful with the exposed diff rather than venturis, i hope that gets changed when it truly arrives. and the black bits all around look cheap and out of place

the gearbox is exposed just for testing purpose. the venturi tunnel is useless at low speed and something to remove if any regulation, modification or substitution is required.

Those were all limited run cars. I'm talking about one-offs built and designed to a specific customer's specifications by the great Italian design houses.

The Bentley Continental GTZ is a limited production car? I thought it was a one-off.

Concerning the Diatto the company seems to have gone tits even before starting. So in a way it could be considered a one-off.

the Continental should be produced in 99 units as the Diatto was supposed. but there were two of the Diatto, the yellow one and the blue one, with some minor differences between them.
I didn't know the Diatto went out of business, I kinda like the yellow car though

I'm not saying that they've gone out of bussiness for sure but the quietness is suspicious.

Also weren't the yellow and the blue the same car actually?

according to the press release those are two different cars.
and it's logical since the operation of relaunching the brand was lead by two collectors.

Took a while to find this thread again, the thread should be renamed to "Ferrari SP1 - 2008".
the name is official, judging by the scans of the brochure, the plate in the cockpit and the description of it when the car was exhibited in Tokyo.
Enjoy the result of my research and say "thanks LotD!" :D
