Hosted by the MG car club, which runs the hillclimb track, this was another round in the state hillclimb championships (they alternate between this track and the noosa hillclimb i believe). open to essentially all cars, divided into classes, with some very fast open wheelers, a few limited use-plated subaru's and the like.
these are fairly regular (cheap to enter and cheap for the organisers to run) with a wide variety of cars, some home built and many i don't recognise :D older, smaller/lighter cars are favoured.
some people really go hard...some of the datsun's end up on two wheels exiting the corners.
this vid shows the layout; YouTube - Mt Cotton Hillclimb Rd5 44.13 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MsfNj6nFR8U)

Depends what sort of turbo most of the roller bearings are very robust the early plain/bush bearing get some end play but not too bad. When we had the old Motec on the nephews car it banged through the turbo heaps and is still going strong 3 years on with the 36mill restrictor causing plenty of turbulence against the compressor wheel. Roller bearing turbos are tough

One more interesting event covered by you, clutch. Thanks. Some really interesting cars. And some of them need yet to be identified. Say, #3 pic5 or #2 pic2 (though latter seems very familiar)...

I dont there is anything better than heading out to a local event, no crowds, pits are open and most people are more than happy to talk to you about their car. I wanted to head out last weekend to a supersprint at mallala but time restraints----childrens taxi driver wouldnt allow me the luxury. One of my mates was sprinting his Integra and got a V10 Viper scalp:cool: Al though his integra needs a decent exhuast... fart can anyone

Once the racing bug bites , it bites hard either competing, spectating or helping. Our team is heading to PI for a round of the victorian state championship, Im not racing:( just crewing for the nephews and a few others but Im counting down the sleeps, we have a ball from the car prep to reliving highlights of the race meet.

I dont know how it worked, But down at a hillclimb in canberra once there was a triple engined go-kart. Did a lap five seconds faster than everything else, packed up and went home.
