I am about to buy a yellow (or black) 2004 bmw m3 fully loaded near the end of june.

I am curious as to what is out there for performance modifications and such.

The only thing I know for sure I am going to buy at this point in time is the Borla Exhaust.

Thanks in advance!

Here (http://www.2kracing.com/index.php/cPath/3_99?osCsid=4cd5b4761f0074a8c732acc68db73124) is a page with some mods for the M3 on it.

BTW Nice choice of car!! Are you going to have a Coupe or a Convertible?

Heres another page of M3 performance parts, quite a large list on this (http://www.accessoriesgiant.com/bmw-m3.html) page.

Appreciate the fast replies! I live in america if it makes a difference.

I plan on picking up a coupe. I like the rigidity of the body, and the look of the m3 better as a couple. I love convertibles, but I plan on picking up a 2 seat convertible by next summer. Waiting to see what 2005 brings about in 2 seat convertible models.

BMW M3 + Google = Many websites dedicated to the M3, usually with forums of owners who may have experience of any modifications you might want to make, or may be able recommend a local reputable specialist.

I tried google, that is what originally led me to these boards.

With that second site, how do i view their parts?

I tried a few different things and got this:

"BMW M3 Cold Air Induction (Ram Air) - BMW Cold Air Induction (Ram Air)

This BMW M3 Cold Air Induction (Ram Air) is the best deal you'll get online. Thousands of aftermarket BMW M3 performance parts and accessories available now to ship to you. Quality is never compromised with every low price offer of BMW M3 performance accessories and parts. Order BMW M3 Cold Air Induction (Ram Air) to get you vehicle in shape again!"

does this mean they do not have any of that part for this car or what?

Also with the goole thing. I have looked through and cannot find too many mods for m3's. The only site i really found was the one first posted here.

Maybe if you ask your BMW dealer they could point you in the right direction, maybe you can get some proper ///M parts or maybe Alpina parts or something.

I actually did ask the dealer.

He first told me that he did not personally know of any, to look around online and try message boards.

He then gave me the whole lecture on many "mods" will void my manufacturers warranty and all that.

A couple other things here while I am at it.

Can I have a normal mechanic install the Borla exhaust system, or do I need a specialty shop to do it?

Also, where can I find and what size can i get brakes. I would like to get 20 inch rims in the back and 19 in the front. I would like large cross drilled rotors with yellow brake shoes, preferably brembo.

Are you preparing to enter racing? No? So why do you need to mod an M3? I drove one for a couple of days and I can tell you it doesnt need any mods.
Please do not take it a wrong way, but to choose the brakes based on the color of the caliper?? And you only need to upgrade the brakes if you are planing some serious track activitites as brakes do tend to go off quite quickly (a few laps), but for fast road driving they more than capable.
Maybe get rid of a speed limited instead. :) BTW, are US spec M3 de-tuned compare to EU version?

I wish I knew that ruusky. (meaning if they are de-tuned in the us)

The reason I am upgrading the brakes is not because of the color. It is because I am just not fond of factory brakes, and I have always been a brembo fan. The color does look nice however showing through the rims, so im not going to get some color that clashes with the car.

I do not plan on racing, but I am just a power person. I like to have that extra power, and I like the sound of a finely tuned engine also.

there are many moe cars that would be suited to the purpous of modding for power than a new M3, if you must have a bimmer try the last generation of m3, they have several turbo kits available for it and its engine is capable of well over 800hp ;)

So will the 2004 in the near future. It is a new car, so they wont have much out for it until next year I am guessing.

I just love the new models, plus i want to be the first and only owner of the car, it is my first new car ever.
