This is the code name of the operation under which Aston Martin and Mercedes are investigating possible closer cooperation. Aston would get access to new engines, in particular to replace the V12 and Maybach would be the subject of Aston's attention to make it more attractive. The cooperation between Mercedes and McLaren will end this year, but Aston is not going to be involved in the new SLR which seems ready for production.
At the same time the "Lagonda" brand might also be reintroduced, and already four possible models are being considered, as big SUV based on the GL, a Rolls like limo and a four seater coupe and cabriolet, like the S-Ocean Boulevard.

I was hoping this would be about Alfa reviving the Guilia.
Aston is already somewhat plushy and Mercedes is very soggy. What made the SLR good what the extremes. Extreme speed from McLaren and extreme comfort and civility from MB.

V12 Aston Martin > V12 Daimler.

Other than that it's a case of wait and see.

I was also thinking something like that... :p

An Aston Martin SUV?

Dr. Ulrich Bez cannot be serious.

Please tell Aston Martin, "NO SUV."

I told you in an earlier thread (http://www.ultimatecarpage.com/forum/general-automotive/37309-aston-martin-ceo-confirms-revival-lagonda-marque-2.html) thereŽd be a Lagonda SUV no matter what Dr. Bez said. Of course a lot can happen especially in the current economic climate but I still think weŽll see at least a concept version.

What's the sh*t about germans messing up great car companies? I understand most of them need something to bring them back from the dead (as Porsche needed the Boxster...) but SUV FTW??? Stop that!

And the Aston V12 shouldn't be swapped by any german V12 thingy. Keep it N/A and thunderous as the current DBS / DB9, not that turbo'd mute stuff the germans have!

And the V12 is losely related to a Ford V6 engine. But it is irrelevant.
