I've got to agree, but I am waiting anxiously to see how the Millechili or however the butt you spell it turns out.

That was just a concept, the solutions of which will be applied on future Ferraris.

I know there was the first one which was the winner of a design contest, but then there were rumors of the next Ferrari super car that was going along with a similar name to be changed before production, as mentioned in Car and Driver among other places.

Ferrari California.

Runner up: BMW M3 Sedan. Lambo Estoque would be my runner up, but it's too far from production.

Bentley Brooklands is still in production. Customers in the US are being delivered their cars as we speak. My father might nominate that car.

Audi R8

The R8 arguably won last year as I recall - there was gonna be a revote to disallow it potentially but that never happened. Lemme see...

UCP Car of the Year 2007 (http://www.ultimatecarpage.com/forum/awards/35702-ucp-awards-2007-car-year-voting.html)

A massive plurality with more than double the closest runner up. The R8 won.

Winding Road liked the California - I'd be interested in seeing what Evo or Road and Track think of it though. Nic though, I know you think it is the best for this year, but do you think it has a fireball's chance in hell of winning? Props for the bold stance though. Ferrer is gonna choke on his lunch when he reads that you nominated it.

Just got the new Automobile Mag and they liked it, and were positive from a design standpoint as well

it will be the next Enzo or F70, or whatever they want to call it. V8, twin turbo, 1.150 kg and quite compact, expected in late 2009, more likely spring 2010.

Ferrer already nominated the Brooklands and you gave him the Maser so he has two nice Ferrer cars to choose from. I wouldn't even know what to nominate for him. Probably something slow, boring, and ugly?

Oh I kid Ferrer.

this is not a debate, is a fact, they are switching to turbo again, and that car is going to be the first. I will ask for more news.

Isn't a V10 the perfect compromise mathematically?

Isn't a V10 the perfect compromise mathematically?

it depends (technically) of the singular cylinder capacity. but direct injection is going to make it (almost) irrelevant. V8s usually sound better than V12 imo.

A "semi", or "nursing a semi" is having (figuratively most of the time) half an erection. Known as "semi-croquant" in my part of the world :p

Yes I know it is a fact, I was referring to an old thread in which people debated what was the only true engine configuration for a Ferrari.

Ah, gotcha. While I quite dig a big whiney turbo I much prefer a naturally aspirated engine on a Ferrari. It's purer.

Although the F40 managed quite well with a twin turbocharged V8.

I'm almost always on the side of the V12, but there's something I really like about the California. The size and the fact that its front engine remind me of the 250GT SWB Berlinetta.

Isn't a V10 the perfect compromise mathematically?

Not really. I think the V10 is an evolutionary dead end. My BMW has a V10 and I like the V12 in the 760 and the V8 in the M3 MUCH better.

The GT2 could suffice as it's new this year.

Why not? There's absolutely no reason the Porsche GT2 shouldn't win. Performance, pedigree, looks . . .

It's a tough one, but I've narrowed it down to the Porsche 911 GT2, Alfa Romeo 8C, Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-R, and the Koeningsegg CCXR. I'll try to narrow it down further if necessary, however I think all my choices have already been nominated anyway.

Yes the Scud is in production this year, technically it was introduced in 07 i think but this is really its first full year.

The GT2 is cool but isn't as visually dramatic as the Ferrari, which i would need from a supercar.
