I'll take the BMW M3 engine.... it has a spine-tingling sound, and an amazing amount of power considering it is natuned.... well done Motorsport dudes! I have to say that if you had included a Honda VTEC engine, that would have been my choice. The one in the NSX Type-R perhaps.

I would take the F130 Ferrari 333SP engine. About 750 hp at some 12,000 rpms, I love it. :)

i love big engines, the bigger the better (as long as its still meant for sport, and not a bus or something), so im gonna take the new vipers 8.3 liter v10 and the 7.3 liter pagani zonda v12 (i love both so dearly)

- '68-'76 Cadillac 472 and 500 V-8... extremely reliable and plenty of power. The torque ratings (525 lbs/ft for the '68-'70 472 and 550 lbs/ft for the '70 500) are particularly impressive.

- '66-'71 426 Hemi V-8... even though it was detuned for street use, it still put out 425 rated horsepower (more like 470 hp) and 490 lbs/ft torque. Enough power here for 13-second 1/4 miles (even on skinny '60s tires) and over 140+ top speed, even when installed in a non-aerodynamic '66 Plymouth Satellite or '68 Road Runner.

'67-'71 Mopar 440 and 440-6 bbl... strong and reliable engines. Plenty of torque available for fun!

- '68-'71 Mopar 340 V-8... strong, tough engine. Will push compacts like Darts and Dusters into the mid-14s for 20 (or more) years. Can get 15 mpg unless the throttle is wide open a lot.

A few other of my favorites...
- The G.M. big-inch big blocks (454 Chevy, 455 Olds, Pontiac, Buick), Ford 390, 427 and 428,

out of the options offered here I would choose the BRM V16

It was so out of this world, the centrifugal superchargers could hardly be controlled and once you have ever heard it being driven around hard you'll never ever forget it. A tape with the sound of it has been posted somewhere here but I can't remember.

The Chevy small block V8: 327, 350, 383. Very versitile engines Can and have been used in everything from drag racing, Nascar, road racing, offshore racing, muscle cars and even trucks. Very reliable, powerfull, and there are millions of parts for them.

Ford Modular V8's, 4.6 and 5.4, many variations with lots of flexibility.

The Maseratti 4.2 V8, awesome NA power and admirable grunt from small displacement eight cylinder.

LS6 is an awesome engine

and of course RB26, and the Supra two J Z engine or whatever it is.
