that actually looks quite good (usually these race car converted to road use things don't?)
dunno if it'd be nice to live with though :D

edit: the 956 schuppan used is still around. i raced it :D

Much closer resemblance to the race car than his 962CR's that there are several of featured already in Matt's hi-res hideout. Shame these are probably not large enough to warrant being added but for such a rare car i decided they still were worthwhile posting. :)

I assume that you of course thrashed it.

yeah, they are a little small, but fantastic pics nonetheless. it would probably be a very interesting, if terrifying, car to drive.

One thing i've only just spotted is the fact the rear facing exhausts have been disconnected in favour of the side outlets (which look to be a later addition rather than as it left Schuppan).

If you happen to see it out on the road i'd be sure to stand well back from the roadside unless of course toasted lower legs is something you've always wanted. :p

How much did it cost new? How much power does it make?
I'd want to drive it at La Sarthe. I'd bet most tracks this side of the Atlantic are a bit too cramped for me to feel safe in a thoroughly insane car.

Perhaps there wasn't enough room for the cats if the exhaust went straight back, to get themselves a little more space they rerouted the exhausts to the side?

Well, 956s and probably 962 raced in IMSA GTP here so it could work but yes proper stomping grounds would be in Europe - particularly where you mentioned hellcat.

Interesting! Didn't know about this car, it has some differences. I was under the impression that only one was made.

Yep, I think terrifying would be the best word to describe it... :)

would certainly leave a lasting impression.

the impression we are talking about would be your shape impressed on the seat during the first acceleration.

Or the colourful impression I would expect to be left in one's trousers?

Just wondering also, now that this one has pretty regular 962 bodywork, unlike the beautifully vented and swoopy CR, what would win in a dogfight: This or the Koenig C62, the DP962 or the Dauer 962lm?
Not just Vmax wise either.

Pobably mentioned elsewhere on UCP, but I recall poor old Vern just about went broke from this car after the supercar bubble burst

From the CR, yeah :( I have all the details somewhere, but can't look them up now. Think two cars were never payed for and seeing as they're million dollar cars, the company went bust.

Hello there! Can you perhaps tell me if this car has allways been black?

Back TTT, I noticed this car has re-appeared now in Rothmans livery. Anyone have more details? Schuppan Porsche 962 Lm Race Cars for Sale - Schuppan Porsche 962 Lm Race Car Prices (http://www.symbolicmotors.com/inventory-schuppan-porsche/962-lm-race-car.html)

For me personally, the Schuppan, although being a brain-meltingly fast car, is not really worth its £2.8m price tag. (the model which i am referring to is the 962CR ''flat nose'') Personally, i would much rather own the Dauer 962 road car - essentially the same car, but £600,000 - compared to £2,800,000 (probably worth more now though...) Plus theres also the fact that the Dauer is also available in different colors, such as my personal favorite for this car - yellow. Then there's the final fact that the Schuppan is slightly slower than the Dauer - 249 mph compared to 251, 0-62 mph in 2.6 compared to 2.5.
:D

Is this the same car Alan DeCadenet featured in the Victory By Design series?
Great stuff... when Speed TV still programmed for enthusiasts. :(

Thought it might be on YouTube, but alas... missing segment 7.
