that 90's V8 vantage is sweet, never seen one in person.

No I think it is a one off race car - the driver sits back behind the pillar

Used to have great battles back in the late eighties early nineties with a 302 Chev Mk1 Capri and a Toyota Starlet powered by a Buick V8.

That would be a local V8 (probably Chev) powered sports sedan. Possibly the car that Graham Addis raced back in the 1980s.


What part of NZ was this event?

Auckland. Ellerslie Racecourse - assuming the venue hasn't changed since the last time I went (ten years ago now - I'm getting old:().
Looks like the event is a lot bigger now than it was back in the 1990s when I last lived in Auckland and went most years.

no but there are a whole bunch of (better:)) pics on the Classic cars | vintage cars, car enthusiasts and historic racing (http://www.classiccar.co.nz) website. there are some articles on some of the cars eg mclaren on there too.
