Hey everyone, again sorry for the delay. My (largely) kaput computer has hampered my ability to do anything at a reasonable pace. I'll do my best to get everything up, although I may not be around much during the week. Cheers.

I'm going to post right now, that way I don't forget like last time. Two entries is a bummer.

I've got the Tamron 18-200 w/ Canon Mount.

I don't mind it, TBH.

I'd heard mixed things and I knew it would be a compromise, but I was still disappointed with the quality. I actually suggested it to a friend who hasn't done/doesn't do much photography, but had a 20D and didn't want to have multiple lenses. Maybe the copy I have is particularly bad, though. I'm just glad I didn't have to pay for it, haha.

Personally I think all the 18/200's are not very good. I am a professional photographer and am a Nikon user. I have a D3 and an old D70 and on the latter I put the 18/200 Nikkor for convenience. It is often out of focus, is soft, and frankly I don't much like it at all. On the D3 I use the 24/70 and that, while in a different price bracket, is fantastic, so much so that last week I used it indoors at 2500 ISO without flash and got remarkable results. But to come back to the point; when I bought the D70 years back it came with the 18/70 kit lens and that is vastly superior to the 18/200. It is very cheap secondhand too. Go buy it and see the difference.

Not certain what UCP is, but here is one of my favourites taken at the Silverstone Classic in 2008. Gives the real idea of racing, the Bizzarini and the lightweight E type.
I'll post a series of Le Mans sometime.

Hey lowdrag, just a quick rundown. This is a competition thread, where you enter a photo (one per competition) which then goes to a member-voted competition thread. I removed your photo from the first post as it was bigger than allowed, and isn't an entry.

Goodwood was also more than 3 months ago.

Nice, we could have met up at the same corner, and btw APB1 is not a Bizzarrini but Bamford's 250GTO/64, as you will remember furiously driven by Jean Marc Gounon, I have a shot of him with one wheel on the grass, and just managing to keep it on track....

It's been unusually cold this winter - down to -17C - and now it is warming up. But still the winter won't let go. Here's a photo taken a week or so back. Taken with the nikon D3 and 24/70 f2.8 lens. I shall use it for my Xmas card this year!
