A38 AMG
two 1.9 litre engines, one in the front, driving the front wheels, the other below the boot, driving the back-wheels. Together 250hp and 360Nm of torque. Vmax was 230kph (due to the aerodynamics). Brakes from E55 AMG. Four cars built.
(There were also between 1 and 10 (different quotes = different builtnumbers) A32 Kompressor made by HWA (racing division of AMG) with engine and chassis of the SLK32 AMG. 354hp and rear-wheel-drive, sadly no pics available at the mediaserver)

A210 Evolution
It was planned as an A21 AMG with supercharger, but none of the A-Class transmissions was able to handle the torque (because of that also the A170 CDI diesel had to get a torque-restrictor).

This is the first A-Class, built between 1997 and 2004, there is another thread with the A-Class (W169), which is built since 2004.

Oh, I wasn't aware that they were different generations. Sorry for the confusion! Thought that they were the same cars.
