In the first post, third picture, is that a modified Taurus or Escort or something. It looks useless.

the SVT contour was actually a rather quick car. and lots of ability to be tuned to high levels of torque steering fury.

rather quick?

I've seen them run in the 17's in the 1/4...

according to this a good driver gets it down to mid 15's

STUFF.to Experience: 1998 Ford Contour SVT Specs (http://www.stuff.to/svtspecs.php)

doesnt even make 200hp to the crank:p

It apparently competes with the car I own. That doesn't make it cool. Even if it's faster.

EDIT: this is totally irrelevant to this thread. I apologize.

Was it designed to look like a Celica, or was it just an unfortunate coincidence.

Why does the race car have no brake caliper on its front right brake? (image #9)

What is the latest news on Saleen?

Steve Saleen is now doing SMS.
MJ Acquisitions bought Saleen Automotive (production cars and aftermarket parts) from Saleen, Inc. which has been run by Hancock Park Associates ever since Steve decided to sell a few years back. All Saleen employees affected by the deal were essentially laid off, but MJA is/has been planning on hiring most of them back.
Saleen, Inc. still owns the rights to the S7, S5R and the paint operations, but they're looking to sell those off as well. MJA, on the other hand, is gunning for the Viper.
