Couldn't find a thread for it, if it's a repost, merge or delete, it's up to you mods.
if not, hide-out plz :)

old press release:

Zonda Cinque
After last year’s record braking lap at the infamous Nürburgring Nordschleife, the
official Pagani representatives from Hong Kong made their special request for the
most radical road legal Zonda ever, the Zonda Cinque. Limited to just 5 (Cinque)
pieces the production is already sold out.
Technology
In order to satisfy the downforce requirements of 750kg at 300kph, the Cinque
features a new larger front splitter, a new adjustable rear wing as well as a
modified underbody and rear diffuser. New intakes for brake ducts increase the
airflow to brake disks and wheelhubs.
The air scoop on the central monococque feeds the 678hp Mercedes-AMG V12
powerplant. Up to 780Nm are unleashed on the bespoke Pirelli Pzero tyres. For
the first time ever in a Zonda a sequential 6 speed gearbox is installed. The
adaptive gearbox demands no compromises from the driver, offering lightning
fast gearshifts and comfortable use in heavy traffic.
Having become a public issue only recently, fuel economy and efficiency have
been grappled with since the mid 1990s at Pagani, its engineers constantly
developing new technologies and materials to reduce the weight of their cars.
A new composite fibre, carbon-titanium, a development by Pagani, has been
purposely created for the Zonda Cinque and will find its use in future generations
of Pagani vehicles. Forged monoblock aluminium wheels, bolts and nuts are
realised in titanium to significantly reduce the unsprung masses. The fully adjustable
ergal shock absorbers with titanium springs have been developed at Öhlins
according to the latest technologies and to the Pagani specifications.
Interior
While maintaining the level of refinement usual for Pagani cars, the interior reveals
the sporty pretensions. Leather racing seats developed by Toora with 4-point
seatbelts are surrounded by carbon fibre laminated Cr-Mo roll-bars.
The ergonomic shift paddles behind the steering wheel as the rest of the controls
have been studied to offer highest levels of precision for a deep immersion into
the driving pleasure.
Driven by passion and following the renowned automotive tradition of Modena
and the Renaissance concepts of art and science by Leonardo Da Vinci, another
automotive sculpture is born at the Pagani Ateilier, the 1 million (+ tax) Zonda
Cinque with its unmistakable, bespoke livery is reserved for five lucky owners,
guaranteeing unique emotions every time they will get near it.

We wants it precious...

EDIT: Seriously, I know the R has been getting a lot of attention, but you'd think this car wuld have shown up more in the press in the last couple days.

Could you please put the year at the end of the title?

It makes browsing and checking out the index easier. :)

(BTW I've seen you've done the same with some Abarth threads in the hideout)

This isn't a particularly new concept. I think it was introduced back in the fall/summer.

I believe that the press release of the car has been out since July 2008

Right, but this is the first time I c an remember it being shown as anything other than concept pics. The car was (I think) debuted at Geneva, but was overshadowed by the Zonda R.

it would have been a good idea, better browsing for sure, I'm just used to do that in my archive :p

those were just the four renderings of the first post together with the old press release as sledge pointed out

true.
This is probably the last real Zonda, with the R being a completely different car if not for a similar frontal look. It also has the same hybrid technology for the chassis, combining titanium and carbon fiber, and even the additional air scoop, probably responsible for the bump in power, together with the new exhaust.
Even Pagani's official site is quite short of new info about it, as it was for the R for a quite a long time even after the car's unveiling in Vienna.

That interior is brutal. Maybe it's just me, but the weaves of the carbon fiber going off in all different directions distracts my eyes and makes my brain leak.
Did they really have to make it that glossy?

From what I remember of the factory tour, Pagani filled a patented way of creating carbon fiber parts. Also it seems their CF parts aren't so weak when it comes to leaving the car under the sun, without getting whitish and bad looking. Don't know if that explain the glossy-thing.

You're getting picky over a Pagani? Be blessed that you could actually choose one. :D

Kinda pissed that they didn't have any at the NY Auto Show. Are they roadworthy in the US?

This.... is super cool. Now if Lamborghini could take this approach.

However, I don't like multi-colored wheels. But that's a minor flaw.

IIRC the answer is no.

I'd personally have the F, or even an original C12 S. I hate carbon fibre interiors.

I suppose you could ask them the interior you prefer.
and no, afaik, no Zonda is officially registered in the States if not as a show car or something like that, so the car couldn't be drven for more than 2.000 miles per year or so...like the 959 back in the days...right?!

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that they could change that for you if you wanted.

Does track mileage count? And where would you service it anyway in the US?

at a Mercedes-Benz uber dealer I would say.
perhaps those where you could bring your CLK GTR (Roadster perhaps) too.
otherwise you are righ enough to ship it to Italy, which is what actually happens usually, I don't think super exotics dealers are equipped and able to maintain all those cars.
