are they supposed to be in the same class?

Absolutely not.

The RSX is a full on sports coupe, the ZDX is more of a BMW X6 fighter.

they need another sports coupe. i used to own a black acura rsx type s and its my favorite car ever. ive driven a bunch of sporty Mercs and Lexus' that my parents buy, and they dont hold a candle to the pure fun of the rsx. the TSX is just downright boring

and you thought the ZDX could have been a better sport coupe?!

What they really need is a CL with RWD!

If that RWD, V8 project ever gets off the ground, it might be possible.

Have to bring back the CL first though.

not they don't. a sports coupe such as the integra is nice, but too niche these days. similar performance and much more efficient packaging in a 3 door hot hatch. a new CRX possibly makes more sense than a new integra.
if the S2000 doesn't get a replacement though.. :(

The Hyundai Genesis is a sports coupe. They must be onto something.

Honda doesn't even have a sports coupe. Maybe the Accord coupe, but that's really pushing it.

the genesis is very different to an integra class coupe.
does toyota still make the celica for example?

don't take me by the words, but the only difference between a CRX and an Integra is the bodywork.
and I think an Integra-ish car is better looking than a CRX-ish one.

Pretty much, if you consider the Scion Tc to be a Celica. It's still a FWD coupe.

In any case, RWD makes it much more different.

Pretty much. Maybe VTEC, but that's about it.

They should just do what Honda Canada does and make a Acura badged Civic Si, but maybe with the Japanese running gear(the 225bhp engine and LSD, maybe with the suspension from the JDM type R....)

It would be cool to see. The Acura CSX was what you're referring to right?

yes, but i mean a new one. like a 3 door hatch, something like a mazda 2 (lets face it, the honda jazz is pretty dull)

the 3 door current Civic isn't fine?!
I never saw one tbh, just 5 door models, but they are the same.

sure, but I love the style and details, and the cockpit even more:p

It isn't that huge is it? At least not compared to the previous generation.

true :D
but honda, imo, could make a better case for a small versatile, sporty hatch to compete against the mazda 2, than a more specialised car like an integra coupe.

compared to previous civics it's pretty big, kinda close to the accord it seems.
and ~1300kg iirc?

I would like both cars.

Current gen Civic:
Length 4250 mm 167.3 in
Width 1760 mm 69.3 in
Height 1460 mm 57.5 in
Kerb weight 1200 kg 2646 lb

The new Civic Sedan is within 100mm of the previous Accord Euro, IIRC.

so it's ridiculously big, but it's mostly all in the nose.

yeah, i'd love a new integra, but i don't think it will happen :(
also, with current styling trends, i wonder how it would turn out visually..

Thats what it is in Canada. We get the regular CSX which is a upscale Civic, and CSX Type S which is the Si Sedan. No coupe.

I never understood why they don't bring the JDM Type R to N. America. Before I can understand because the cars weren't made here. But the Civic/CSX are already made in Ontario, and the Type S/Si gets its running gear from Japan already. The rest of the bits should be bolt-on....unless the chassis of the Type R is that different from the regular car. And unlike Europe we do have the same body style Civic as Japan with independent rear suspension in a 3 box body, as opposed to the twist-beam hatch back...

I've been wondering the same thing. We are just always behind when it comes to the performance Civics. :(

Don't worry, we get just as screwed with all the awesome Euro cars.

They like to keep the best products for themselves. :D

Unfortunately. :(

I really wouldn't mind seeing the Type R sold in limited numbers, just as the Integras were. Then they could hike up the prices. Besides, the more expensive it gets, the less of a chance ricers can get a hold on them.
