Fairly decent Sauc3, it's always cool with shots like those to get a little more detail of the surrounding rocks and things in, or just get a little bit closer. Nice anyway.

When I have time I plan to make a 180 degree panorama which follows the river to the right of the image, which would get a lot more surrounding detail.

That's also the closest possible, as that's where the viewing platform ends unfortunately.

That's a cool shot. Tripod or handheld? It looks like it was tripodded (Just invented a new word :D).

Thanks. It was indeed triped. (Another new one :D)

A 0.8 second exposure handheld, whilst not entirely unfathomable, would be very very tricky, and would definitely not guarantee clean enough results.

it goes without saying that he used a tripod. Since the degree of water blur on the waterfall would need atleast a single second exposure time. Nobody's hand is steady enough to keep the camera still in order to maintain sharpness in the surrounding area at slow shutter speeds. I enjoy taking similar shots to this one alot it gives for nice results.

My personal 'record' if you will is actually at roughly 1 second hand held for a... viewable... result. Not pin sharp, but certainly not suffering from camera shake. Takes a lot of breathing control and supports to lean on, but it's doable.

i usually try the old 'call of duty sniper trick' but if we're truthful. the detail suffers at any sort of slow shutter speed as you say.
