Cool, what kind of lifting are you doing? Powerlifting or proper Olympic Weightlifting? What weight division? Your pressing strength needs some serious work by the looks of it! :D

Good luck, and try not to get buried! Just treat it as a learning experience and a way to learn from all the other lifters there who've been there and done it before, don't get too hung up on your numbers/position and end up going for lifts you don't have a chance of making.

Hey, I do powerlifting, not sure if that's what you're about to do, but i've never been to a full meet yet. But good luck and you should post your body weight. Looking forward to the pictures.

I set a goal of 'not coming last' which I acheived, it was based on Wilks score so being 112.5kg I knew id struggle. It was a standard 5 lift comp. Learnt HEAPS from watching and talking to the other guys whove been doing it for years. My press is pretty average, got some exercised to fix that though.

Bodyweight at the comp was 112.5KG.

Totaled
32. Simon - 582.5kg @ 112.4kg - 340.58 Wilks

Squat: 145kg EQ PB
Bench Press: 90kg NEW PB
Clean: 90kg NEW PB
Over Head: 77.5kg NEW PB (think I couldve gone up to 85kg but didnt want to risk it)
Deadlift: 180kg NEW PB

Im aiming for a 700kg total by late January for the Australia day comp.

For the record, five lifters totalled over 800kg at the comp. Five lifters got over a 500 wilks score. MASSIVE.

Thread revival lol.

Next comp is on next weekend. Combined 5 lift comp (as per above) Saturday then a Strongman comp on Sunday... Going to fun!

Lifts have jumped up since last comp obviously.

Squat: 165kg
Bench Press: 110kg
Clean: 110kg
Over Head: 100kg
Deadlift: 210kg
Total: 695kg

So ill easily get my 700kg total goal :) Mega excited! Should place in the middle somewhere.

Pics from last comp: Those that know what i look like will spot me easily, terrible pics lol.

Under hand is much easier, over hand i find really really hard. But you know where i came from, so anything even 1 for me is like lotto:D.

Congrats on the weightlifting competition brah...

what kinda weight are you talking in Lbs?

times by 2.2 to get pounds.

100kg = 220 pounds.

I mix mine up and do close grip underhand then wide grip overhand, works your back so hard I love it.

S.O.S
01-17-2010, 07:49 PM
That would be ten times as hard:eek:. I did overhand at the park yesterday got half way up which is basically full way for me:D, can do it on the door at home only:D.

**** yeah!..

2nd video they were checking out your rear;).

Those squats must be hard for your height, but you do them pretty easily.
