Hi all! Just thought I'd show off my new purchase, a 1994 Honda Accord 2.2 Manual, 262,000km but with plenty of service history and in good condition considering the kms. Haven't been able to give it a good drive yet as in a great piece of comic timing I'm sick as a dog.

Nice, hope it lasts a while for you.

If you don't mind me asking, how much was it?

ahhh 94 accord. takes me back. my first car to truly call my own was a 95 accord. ive always thought that body style of accord was one of the better looking hondas out there

congrats on the new purchase.

$2,500NZ, or around $1800US. Not too bad considering its a NZ New model as well not an jap import. cheers RJ!

Do you have VTAK POWAR? :D

Nice ride. Should provide many more years of painless motoring if you do things right.

car #3 was a 93 Accord LX Auto. I hated every minute of driving it, but the bastard would not die. traded it in with dead A/C, worn and noisy CV joints in both half-shafts, and in need of a new battery with 177k miles. engine was still as strong as the day we bought it with 50k miles and loved to be abused (which it was), despite the fact i only changed the oil at 7k miles or more.

nice purchase, it will last you for ages if you dont wear out everything else out first.

Pff, some of us use loonies. But the Canadian dollar is so high right now that's it's nearly at parity with the US dollar. So say $1750 CDN.

haha I'm sorry, I fully empathise with the Canadian/American Situation, being a NZer overshadowed by the convict continent (Australia)!

Before we bought our BMW 328i over in NZ, we had a 1994 Accord. Automatic, unfortunately, but in mint condition with gorgeous burgundy paintwork. Very similar to your model.

Great car, reliable, durable, quiet, safe, spacious, well equipped, well made, responsive and handled reasonably.

But utterly, utterly forgettable. Hope you don't lose it in a Car Park.

Totally agree IB4R! After a run of dodgy cars however its what I need.

if its intention is to transport you, success.

if it's intention is to move you, not so much.

Congratulations.

I think that by this generation, our Accord had already separated since I don't recall this being sold here.

Yes, I have felt for several years that New Zealand is the analogue of Canada in the southern hemisphere of the English speaking world.

Nice.

So you love being bored to death?

Nice car, though not especially exciting. Hondas are hard to kill. Congratulations.

My sister has a '97 Accord. It has its problems, but it keeps going regardless. It's also a Special Edition model, and is therefore cooler than yours. :p

Those gen Accords are unstoppable. My buddy had one die on him yesterday (...the irony) but the shape that the car was in paired with the number of miles he had on it was pretty remarkable. He got it in '03 in what looked like undriveable condition and put something like 80-90k more miles onto it. Thing was a workhorse.

I like the bare simplicity of them.
