Either you or your friend is a moron, the NSX Type R has it all over the GTS. The NSX lapped the Nurburgring in 8:09 which happens to be the same time set my the Ferrari 360 Modena. It was also quicker by 0.5 sec than the 360 around the Hockenheim Club Circuit.

It is no contest!

But the GTS hasn't been to the Nurburgring.
And if a Road standard VZ SS Can clock a standing start time of 02.44 At bathurst then you would have to say the GTS should be respected :D

Thats a bad comparison, there hardly the same type of car... The NSX type R would definetly take it.

just like Slicks said the NSX would put the smack down on the Holden. The NSX is one of the best handling cars on earth. the Holden probably would accelerate a bit faster than the NSX but that doesnt matter on a road course. the NSX also has the HSV beat on weight.

Interesting comparo. I admit I don't know a lot about the HSV GTS, and what I know I learned in the last five minutes. The only thing similar in these two cars is price and 0-60 acceleration times. The HSV actually has a slightly quicker 1/4 mile times with higher terminal speed. So yes, in a 1/4 mile drag HSV beats NSX. (Very impressive) but other than this, it's all NSX.

The NSX has a 500 lbs weight advantage. It's a mid-engine design. The NSX employs all-aluminum construction. In addition to the body panels, even the suspension components are alum-alloy, meaning to much less unsprung weight. All this weight savings translate to superior handling. Also consider, center of gravity. As said in an earlier post: NSXs run with Ferraris 360s on the track.

Dead thread, but depends on what you want out of a car. If you want a fast-as-hell family car that can take a family of four on holiday with some luggage, then the HSV is for you. If you want a seat-of-the-pants set of thrills, coupled with a chassis apprved by Ayrton Senna, and pretty sexy looks, then take the Honda.

Well, that list doesn't really show anything because the NSX isn't there.

But here's a way we could kind of compare them:
This is from your list:
BMW M3 CSL 01:07.94
HSV GTS 01:12.16

I grabbed the M3 CSL because it was on the top of your list.

If we compare the M3 CSL at Top gear with the NSX R at top gear:
BMW M3 CSL 1 min 28.0 secs -
Honda NSX Type-R (Wet) 1 min 31.6 secs -

The difference between the HSV GTS and the M3 CSL is 5.78 seconds

The difference between the NSX R and M3 CSL on a longer track in which a faster car can create more difference on the lap time is 3.6 seconds And the day the NSX ran was on a wet track which gave it a disadvantage.

Then you can see this video of the NSX beating an M3 CSL on a track... as well as a Ferrari 360.

Also your times show that on the 1/4 mile the HSV GTS beats the M3, but on the track it doesn't, showing that the car's acceleration is actually better than the handling.

Good car, awesome speed and yes, awesome handling too because its times are not bad... But cannot beat the NSX R. Is just an overall better car.

It would also depend on the track, like if u have a tight circuit like Oran Park then the NSX will own the GTS yet if its a free flowing track with lots of straight like Bathurst then the gap will close

On top gear when boof head drove a HSV GTO around he said it was the best car he had driven there and so much fun :D
That was only the GTO not the GTS :D
Also the NSX in Aussie $$ is a Good $100,000+ more  And HSV doesn't have any F1 help

But you got to say for it's price and performence the GTS shit on the NSX..
What kind of car is the Crysler Crossfire ?? I have seen them on the raods, Are they just a coupe that's not built for high performence?? Or am i wrong on that i just don't know about it ?

the chrysler crossfire was designed by a brit, made by germans, and sold as american :) :D!!

its a soft car to drive apparently, dad test drove one in last time we were in sydney.

the GTS is a big V8 vs a medium large v6. so it all depends..
but the GTS looks like sh!t.
