As one of the more hotly-anticipated vehicles of the 2010 Geneva Motor Show, the Ferrari 599 Hybrid is on the list of cars people just can't wait to see ASAP. Despite Ferrari's efforts to keep its show car away from prying eyes before its official debut, intrepid auto buffs have managed to snag the first series of images of the hybridized supercar, presumably from the actual Geneva show stand.

A green Ferrari? Madness.
It's using the KERS system though...but I wonder how it adds to the weight.

Oh, I didn't know that Ferrari was a fuel-efficient citycar manufacturer now.

The green's not the greatest, but the two-tone scheme looks pretty good on the 599.

Ferrari Prius? That's just wrong.

I get it.

It's environmentally friendly because it's green, right?

Talk about a metaphor to the face.

Oh the tech? great, now it'll achieve 20l/100km instead of 30l/100km.

And then there are the batteries. Which don't use toxic materials. At all.

"He(Ferrari's CEO) went on to reveal that the 599 Hybrid set for next month’s 2010 Geneva Motor Show isn’t destined for production, although the limited edition 599 GTO is. Speaking with GoAuto, Felisa said early hybrid prototypes are already showing improvements in fuel economy of more than 25% but stressed that the technology is just not ready for production and likely won’t be for another five years.

The color's not that bad, it might be sacreligious, but it's really not bad at all. Maybe b/c it's somethin different idk but i like it

Carabo green... watch for Lambo lawyers circling. Lithium battery packs and KERS is a good thing, though: Ferrari got SOMEthing out of that disastrous F1 season. And their clientel can finally be smug without resorting to some Japanese product. The anti-Prius, without guilt.

As silly as I think this is, it's brilliant for Ferrari. Celebrities will see the word hybrid associated with the 599 and buy it like hotcakes. Flashy and 'eco-friendly'. Win-win.

I'm sorry but it's f-ing disgusting.

Brilliant!

I could deal with a Ferrari in British Racing Green.

Then let's call Alfa's lawyers as well.

Boy, am I brain-farting :o... yes, ALFA's lawyers. Thanks Ferrer.

Anyway it was meant in jest. What Ferrari is doing is a good thing on several levels, though there will surely be some smugness from buyers. It's natural. :p
