Conditions were less than perfect.
Great event, Alot of fun.

Was nice add another UCP'er to the East Coast Comrades, (pimento)

Was also very very good to catch up with Sam (2 - IB4R) who bravely battled his volvo through sydney roads on a sunday to a meetup for a photoshoot for Speedhunters.com.

A special thanks to Sam (1 - Clutch) and Anouk for driving Grimace the 960Km down from Brisbane for the weekend.

Photography was hard at the event due to the harsh light or low light due to intermittent cloud cover.

Here are a few favourites - There are other OK shots of other cars however they are not very good.

would of loved to go to the event a few mates competed, Andy in his sprinter had a shocking weekend, broken rollpins in the selector forks, 2 gearboxes and oil drain back problems, Brad in his RX7 FD had turbo problems, Duncan Forrest in his R35 GTR had brake issues and cooked tyres as he ran in clubsprint. Good work by a few fellow IP racers, John Boston- he drove about 6 cars, Dave Loftus BSM GTR, Ryan Brown -IP spec green and black RX7, Jacky Yick in his S15 roady... good work lads.... hopefully the event will be bigger and better, sounds like the schedule needs a few tweaks but all in all its a winner :)

ditto. It adds a neat "used and abused" touch that works wll on purpose drift cars. The old school Skyline is pretty sweet too but I think my favorite is of the picture of the engine bay (post #2, pic 4).

whiteballz, what kind of car is that with all the stcikers (post #3, pic 1)?

btw, thanks for all the great pics!

It was a 180SX,
Running on 16' Watanabe wheels with black centers.

Pimento - Today I'm getting the red X's in that post too. IDK whats going on there.

Brake issues on the grey GTR? Yeah, I noticed his brakes were glowing red coming into turn 2.
We heard they actually caught fire in the pits.

Could it have been because they were carbon-ceramic rotors or do you think there was something wrong? 'Cause I'm pretty sure carbon-ceramic rotors are supposed to glow red and catch fire. But probably not steel rotors.

the speed there is quite high entering that corner, but unfortunately the R magic RX-7 had issues :(
here in this vid taken a hundred metres to the left (and further up the track) from the previous vid, with the elise, you can see the same two guys atop the concrete barrier - it's next to the track rather than directly in front like it appears to be in the other video.

Duncan runs normal steel brakes on the GTR, Wilall Racings GTR here in Adelaide runs water cooling on his and ducting to fix the issue of weight and killing brakes

The event was well executed with minimal fuss (which in the end kind of made it a little boring, TBH. MOAR FUSS! MOAR CRASH!) but the cars were hot and the racetrack was readily accessible.

3 Tarzan Yamada Tomei/Cusco Subaru Impreza WRX 1:31.9010 +0:01.3140

yeah, on the one hand V8SC can use slicks but are bound to a formula for aero, power and weight, whereas these guys can only use semi's but can go nuts everywhere else.

That's the amazing thing, the things weigh a metric shitload, willall racing (http://www.willallracing.com.au/default.htm) who does all the tunes and development on the GTRs globally use Mallala at the local test track . This heavy pig goes out there on semis and smashes all and sundry. We are talking proper Porsche cup race cars, Brads FD and drives home. It amazes me and defies logic especially at Mallala which isn't suited to heavy cars due to the 3 straights, big stop configuration
