Dear Ludo,
Can you edit your post by using the attachment system, (and eventually watermarking your pics) as I explained to you earlier?
Thank you.

It is on my bucket list to make it to this show some day. Did you have a media pass to shoot the cars with out the crowds? I assume those were taken on Saturday.

Gorgeous setting with brilliant cars.

thanks for sharing, please post more if you have them.

regards

Is it just me or does the black gullwing look silly with the white walls?

I agree... the car is otherwise a stunning color combo with painted Rudges; so elegantly sporty, but the tires look completely out of place.

we had a big discussion with Peter Kalikow about the white wall tries, apparently they were an option for US market cars, but I think there was some dissaggreement as to whether the option concerned full white walls or just a partly one.
A similsr discussion we had at Quail this year concerning an early E-Type which came with white walls, but might have been produced a little too late to have them correctly fitted.

A media pass will give you entry to the Saturday event at Villa d'Este, which is a privilege in itself, because the event is by invitation only. The only way to shoot the cars without the crowds (guests, owners, relatives of owners, friends of BMW, you name it) is to come early, but then you'll have photographers running around.

It is a matter of patience, and if you want to shoot particular cars, you better speak with the owners and direct the cars to specific spots after the price giving ceremony. All cars pass the ramp, so no cars will leave early.

The sunday event at Villa Erbe is a better option, because that is for public viewing, and starts at ten. Be there two hours in advance and you have a pretty good chance to shoot cars with less people around.
