Have to say "leave off" the Ka in #6 pic 2.
A fairly standard looking light pod for serious rallying and that car is an ex-works Ford Boreham rally car with a win on the Manx rally on Isle of Man.
Doesn't deserve to be grouped with the rest of that bunch of PoS bodges

Some of those are clearly pisstakes.

Forgive my lack of rallying background and interest. To me it was just a Ka which was supposed to look like a poser RS200. I fixed it now.

MoS, you've seen Barry Boys (http://www.barryboys.co.uk/mx/), right?

I got the pic's from another site, but that link qualifies as horrific as well. As you said, it is hard to imagine some of these 'projects' are meant seriously... At least I hope!

Aye, some of the abominations on that site are hard to believe... quite funny though.

It makes me much more eager to go the Essen Motorshow, at the end of November. Always a good collection of horrific contraptions, although meant seriously.

Wow, this is a far cry from your usual posts. :D

The Corvorado doesn't deserve to be on this list; Priest drove one in Superfly. ;)

As for the rest of the list a mix of laughs, cringes, and "It's sad, but I've seen so much worse."

The RUF is saved once the top two wings are removed. Nothing can save any of the other cars though.

What is with people??

Oh I like this thread. To be honest, I think Mitsuoka as a brand can have pictures of all their cars here.

#23, pic 1... a horrible wrong done to a Tatra. Otherwise this thread is great fun! The Chav Lexus is downright restrained compared to the shitbox norm, and the TT mit der unterbiss (among others) gloriously absurd. Somebody wasted $$$ time, speaking of which: no Chop Shop Leepu rides?!?

A couple of exceptions, though. Erwin Wurm's fat Porsche sculpture pokes artistic fun at a culture obsessed with big and more... it's not a tuner fail. The UFO Beetle at Burning Man doesn't belong here either.

I suppose some of these could be considered extreme art; bosozuko aren't built to be taken seriously as cars but rather cartoons of a culture in extremes. Not unlike Wurm's porker. ;)

Let's not forget ugly tuner fails from yesteryear. Some by famous designers that were taken seriously.

compared to what the likes of Mansory and Asma present us with, the Loewy designs are pieces of art. Who was responsible for the Caddy?
I also think that in their days some Ghia designs would also have made some eyebrows lift.

You're not wrong about Ghia, Henk... and Lowey did the Caddy above. It's not good, but the Lancia is truly excreable.
Mansory et.al. mainly bling out already blingy cars I don't care about, so they're off my radar.

I have seen the Lancia in the flesh, and it was not so bad.
