I watched episode one and all i really got from it was a watered down version of the British show. The hosts kinda tried too hard to make dumb jokes and the part where they called the 427 Cobra a tin can with a motor in it really offended me. It's at least a little entertaining though when they drive the cars around and it's nice to see they have a proper driver in Tanner Foust doing it. I really wanna know who the American Stig is too.

^^ They all start out "copy" of TG as they buy into the franchise.
BY ep 4 I was quite impressed they'd quickly got some of their own style in.
The Morgan in the English lanes had some great cinematography :)

One time was more than enough for the ones I bothered to watch.

Like Matra said the first half was copy-cat but the season got progressively better. The last 3 episodes were thoroughly enjoyable.

Sure, there are the awkward moments and pieces that make you roll your eyes. But, TGUK is in it's 16th? season. You can't expect excellence this early.

There'll likely be a second season and a bigger budget. They'll get more comfortable with one another and I'm sure the show will continue to improve.

Yeah, Dino, remember we in the UK watched season upon season and some of THE worst episodes on the planet !!
If you give them a chance then it's just possible you'll get a decent mainstream TV show for the US enthusiast.
If not then US ratings process will cut it quicker than James May's hairdresser :)

I would worry Rocke if they got too much of a budget as some of the appeal of TG format is it's NOT over glossy or over produced. I'd say "enough" to get interesting cars and celebrities and the occasional overseas foray.

It's getting better, slowly but surely. the presenters are finding their rhythm and chemistry. Alaska episode was HILARIOUS!

I was planning on watching the rest of the episodes. You guys convinced that they're worth it :) One of my fav. parts of TGUK was that they went out and had crazy adventures in cars like when Clarkson drove that Peel P50 through a newsroom. I'm glad to hear that TGUS is gonna do the same thing

^^^ P50s in a safari park being "played" with by a pride of lion's is a classic :)

I meant it more in the sense of production value. The cinematography of TGUK's clips is second to none. TGUS looks nice but has an amateur look to it in comparison to it's UK brethren.

I think the cinematogrphy in ep 6 on the Morgan was even better than UK has done :)
