1973 Lola T929

I was looking through a magazine and found one of these for sale and I was wondering if anyone had any information on them. The one thing I know is that it did race at Le Mans. The person wanted $285,000 US and its serial number is HU65

I don't think so because the owner had it listed as the T929/294 and when I googled the car as the T929 is didn't have any pics but when I did the T294 it came up with the correct car. And the car you posted had the wrong sponsor.

yup T294 is what I googled. The ad says it has a 2.0 liter engine which for a 70s Le Mans car seems quite small.

The car apparently has two names which are T929 and T294. They should have stuck with one name because it seems to cause some confusion. :)

Lola's of that era are confusing, the T290 looks very similar also.

The Lola two litre cars in the 29X range were produced from 1972 to 1978. In the end 108 examples were built, and the shape evolved over the years, from the stubby looking 290 until the stretched 298 versions.
In 1972 Lola also introduced the T28x series fitted with a three liter DFV engine. Only ten or so were made and the 280 looked exactly like the the 290.

During the racing years many cars were upgraded to use the latest aero packages available. The types ranged from 292,294,296,297 up to 298. Here are pictures of all tpyes (except the 297) incluidng the Primazgaz car #65, which according to my records is a 294 and not a 292. For comparison purposes I added a shot of a 280.

Edit: According to the Lola Heritage site #65 is indeed a 292, but apparently the Monterey Historics programme listed the car as a 294 as it also says 294 on the chassis plate of which I routinely took a shot also.
