This is probably the only time that I will enjoy looking at an Oldsmobile. After reading a few articles I found that A.J. Foyt drove the car to a record breaking 267 mph.
Pure futurism, always loved that car. Was the record set in the long-tail version though?

I think so. The picture that I posted was the car that broke the record.

Speaking of A.J. Foyt, is he out of the hospital yet? Heard he was hospitalized for infections to an operation.

I remember this! I had a matchbox car when this was new, it fascinated me! It always won my 'races' too :p

Didn't Chevrolet also have an Areotech Corvette around that time? I think it was a concept car and I don't remember it being raced. It was nice looking today. Truly, if the next new Corvette looked like that they would probably sell very well.

I enjoy looking at quite a few (classic) Oldsmobiles.
The one below, for example, which I certainly wouldn't mind owning. (A 1971 Oldsmobile 4-4-2 with 455-cu-in W30 engine.)

I have a strange fetish for the last of the B-Body Custom Cruisers. Saw this marvelous great white whale today.
