Okay........First I want to say hello from the South (Alabama) and then I want to introduce myself by saying that I am a car fanatic to put it mildly!!

I am currently writing an automotive blog and think that this forum/section will be great to get some feedback/chat going about automotive short stories!

Please enjoy my latest: Cars and Coffee Talk: Fast and Furious...what's the big deal? (http://carsandcoffeetalk.blogspot.com/2013/05/fast-and-furiouswhats-big-deal.html)

Here is the question........Like these movies or not they are about cars and most car guys will go see them. I'd like to know your thoughts after reading my article??

I dont like the fact that the message from these movies is, "if you like cars, and like going fast, go as fast as you can on public roads endangering everyone around you just so you can be happy." Sex and reckless endangerment of human lives sells is the message, oh and throw in a good rogue cop to top it off. I personally cannot stand the series, even though I have seen all to #4 which was completely pointless and had more CGI driving and chase scenes than all before it put together.

My opinion, scrap the lot.

Now see that's the kind of comments I want........good or bad, that's how you feel. Thanks!!! I appreciate your opinion :)

At least the series woke the eyes of the general public to the ricer scene, so I guess it isn't all bad.

I know there is an awful lot not to like about the F&F movies, amongst other things what Sledgehammer says, but a part of me can't help but like them a bit.

I guess it's one of those unmentionable, guilty pleasures... like missing my old 80 and such.

I feel like F&F have changed a lot in its history though...it went from a illegal street drag racing movie with stolen DVD players to an international heist movie with some cars in it...

They are always good for a laugh, and the girls are hot...:D

I've never watch any of them in the theater though...I was planning to with my friend this time around since apparently the scene around here when one of these comes out is pretty hilarious for people watching...but alas timing does not work for me...

Yes sir, the movies have evolved into something different today than the original, but it still seems to fuel the car scene today with the younger crowds..........it just might not be our style for us older guys!! LOL :)

I'm taking my Nismo 350Z to F & F 6 Friday night as there will be an organized car show with dedicated parking spaces and police patrol to watch the cars while we're in the movie.

So the F & F movies still stir interest among gearheads...although just about everyone one of the movies have been horrible IMO lol.

I wish Rush will have this kind of fanfare amongst general populance....but I doubt it..

And now for something completely different:

That was... unexpected.

So F&F films are in fact the most socially and culturally significant movies of the nouhgties?

Who would've thought that...

That article was the most random thing i ever read.

As for the movies, they've worn out their welcome, 1 and 2 were good. I just saw Tokyo Drift and that was decent but after that they've gotten dumb especially with the introduction of these super rare cars. Everyone knows now that most of them are fabricated bodies on junker frames with 4 cylinder engines

My guess is that a large portion of the non-gearhead audience will be there for Daniel Bruhl and Chris Hemsworth! :p
