That is most definitely not a GT500, or even remotely related to Shelby.

It's just a standard 4.6 liter GT with an aftermarket body-kit; the C-Series kit by Cervinis. There's a Novi 2200 supercharger on it, which would put it around the safe limit of a stock 3V block, ie. 450-500hp at the rear wheels.

If it's a manual, he'll start having issues with 2nd and 3rd gear syncros, as the stock TR3650 5-speed will begin to give out. If it's an automatic, he'll likely have to replace the shift solenoids soon. Also, the Cervinis side-exit exhaust takes away ground clearance, and impedes the exhaust flow quite a bit.

I only know a little about a lot of cars, but I know a lot about 05-14 Mustangs.

It's been expensive. I'll put it that way.

Thanks for the clarification!! ... it was a bit lost :D

I've heard bad things, anecdotally, about the ModV8.

Have ya had wheel time in the 6th gen?

Yes, Mustangs have a tendency to be built into all sorts of varieties, according to the owner's wishes. It's what makes them great -- and sometimes confusing and a little fake.

Yes. The S550 is good and bad in my opinion. The build quality is up, but so is the weight. Stock for stock, sure, it handles marginally better than some of the previous versions, but I don't quite like the weight increase.

The ecoboost version is very interesting, the V6 is plain boring -- as always, and the V8 is as good as when it debuted in 2011.

As for motors, the modulars are actually rather good. If you will remember, Koenigsegg used to run the old 4V in the CC8, before they switched to their own design, which even then leaned heavily toward the modular architecture.

The newer 4V versions have all been great -- especially with boost. Modulars really need boost to shine. The 3V I have a soft spot for, but it does have notoriously weak rods. They don't last long. The 2V, however, is forgettable.

People seem to dislike the modulars due to the inherent problem with cost; it's much simpler to take an LS based engine out of a truck or van, throw a turbo on it, and make 800.

Here's a good, albeit little extreme, example of Modulars versus LS (noticed the header design on the winning, 4V engine): Jon Kaase Racing Wins Amsoil Engine Masters with 409ci Ford - EngineLabs (http://www.enginelabs.com/news/jon-kaase-racing-wins-amsoil-engine-masters-with-409ci-ford/)

I filmed 2 cars + .. the gray I think it has the same body kit that you mention .. the "Cervini" I remember that is an engine v6 .. the other in the hood puts Cobra GT 350 ( V8)
these cars are very rarely seen in Spain .. I think they are the most beautiful I've seen around here :D

Yes, it's a V6 -- and a good example of why I don't like the Cervini's kit: the side exhaust takes away so much ground clearance that you can't lower it far enough to get rid of the off-road sized tire to fender gap. If you were to close the fender gap, the exhaust would be scraping on the road.

The V8 is another, plain V8 that's meant to look like something Shelby would have made. There never was anything called a "Cobra GT350"; there were the old Cobra Jet cars (that Ford Racing re-introduced as non-road legal, race-only models a couple of years ago), the original and very sought after 1966 through 1968 Shelby GT350 cars, as well as the more recent 2016 Ford produced GT350, and lastly the abomination that was the 2011 GT3500 made by Shelby American.

I'm not a huge fan of re-badging a car; in this case putting Cobra emblems on base V6 and V8 models. To me it's a little like putting M3 badges on a 316 and 320. I went the opposite way with mine. I removed all badges; front, side, and rear.

I've been leaning towards de-badging as an ethos.

De-badge, then re-badge on the wrong side on a bit of an angle to look just sloppy enough to look fake, then dust people at the drags.

That's ok, but only if it's a mid or top range version.

I like that idea.

Thank you very much for your comments!
