I filmed ignition of the engine of Jim Clark Lotus 18 after a long hibernation .. white smoke came out and had to suspend practice
why this smoke ¿? lubrication problems :confused:

Chassis #372, is it running on three cylinders only?

then the engine does not start by the failure of a cylinder? ..
I read somewhere that white smoke is when antifreeze burns ..
but I guess these old cars must be cooled by air ..

well, they were water cooled (aparth from Porsches) and I guess they never raced during winter so antifreeze in the coolant is highly unlikely.
