I dont know if anyone else has noticed but over the last few weeks the number of members that are coming onto UCP seems to have declined rapidly, there just seems to be a few usual members coming on most of the time. i dont know if it is because it is the summer now and people are going out more

so what do you gys think, are the members just on holiday or are they being traitors and going to other forums :p

I think people may still have exams that they are focusing on and school. Maybe some went away and maybe some just went to other forums and sites or maybe their computers broke down lol. Proably something though...

well i beleive alot of people on the UCP are in High School or in College and most people in that age group tend to get summer jobs from 9-5, so they have less time to spend on UCP,......... at least thats where i am in the daytime....manuel labor is grueling

I think that most people do have other thigns than UCP to attend to. It's definitely not the first thing on their priority list. People have jobs (I'll have one monday), exams, and other things they need to attend to. Maybe they're taking exam prep classes (in the US's case, SAT2s). I don't see why you're concerned, you shouldn't be. UCP shouldn't be the life of anyone, that would be sad to see people living on forums. They'll come and look around and post when they want to or when they have time to. I don't get why a sudden decrease in posts has you concerned though, there are other things to do than sit at UCP all day. (Do not take this offensively, any of you. this is just my 2 cents and ucp has a great forum) :)

Im on (i guess)high school (in dutch gymnasium), and i had a lot of school work to be done last week,so I almost didnt have any time to do other stuff as school.(max. 30 mins a day no school stuff).I couldnt spend much time on UCP therefor.

well ive been VERY busy lately with school trips, girlfriend(s), parties, footy?, goin the gym, goin skatin, on the fone, bla bla bla bla bla
I used to be obsessed with UCP, now im just..not. I pop on every time i use the net, maybe reply to a few threads and do the same a few hours later. But life is getin to complicated and cluttered for me, oh yea.. school  .Winter and early summer tends to attract more people to regularly use the net, now its activity season so more people are out and about. Thats my explanation.

i ahvent been spending nearly as much time on UCP as i used to, since im on vacation. but i do go on every morning when i get up and when im workin on my plans for the day on aim. i am noticing though that the number of posts is drastically lower, it used to be one every few minutes and i could leave for a half hour and come back and reply to more threads. now, however, even the multimedia and misc. sections, which tend to be the most popular, are going up to an hour before anyone posts something. its frustrating!

I have noticed it has been a bit quiet. I have been on Supercar.net to liven up my day a bit when not much is going on here. Most of those guys are idiots but it keeps my wit exercised.

I saw a couple of things there and it is comparable to what GTface is producing in another thread, although his language use is much better.

He is an angel compared to some of those guys. All you need to do is infer that the US government lied or even suggest that they are not 100% right and you recieve a vitriolic outburst that would have someone banned here immediately. The problem is that unlike the occasional R34398 ect , they are there in droves.

Well there you go. It must be an Orstralianism. I imagine it comes from the word drover, which is a cattleman, the guy who rides along side herds of cattle on a horse , escorting them from one part of the barren landscape to the next. Can take days/weeks. Therefore droves would mean heards or a large quantity.

or sheep :)

British saying too.

Would have carried over to the "prisons" as most Aussie's came from Scottish drovers turned poachers :)

It's a problem for the US image.
The internet seems to attract those willing to put forward the extremist, blind faith views in the USA.
I can assure you that is NOT the average American viewpoint.
Usually when other facts are presented they discuss them and are often taken aback how much is known about their country outside it's borders and how LITTLE thy know of others.
Most relish the educationa dn increase their understanding and appreciate what others have.
You can tell I spend lots of times in bars ( usually sports ones ) when I'm working in the US :)

I have actuallymet an american in yahoo car chat who despises the american goverment refering to the american govermant as them trying to say we are rome and will dominate all....he has some many interesting views....he also hated the chevrolet v8 engine thinking of it as a nasty peice of shit with dodgy rod angels poor valve train and had a carefully thought out and actually quite true list (although dramatized) he thinks they are nothing to caddiclac engines (which also have their faults to him but he prefers the build quality and how well they react to modifaction)....some very interesting conversations have come from him....and also make a note he has some of the longest offences i have ever seen in my life....

I appreciate that. And it is entirely the opposite attitude those wankers have. They cant appreciate that lunatice elements that exist in one culture/religion/race do not define the majority. My crusade continues. ( bad choice of words!)

Radical opinion in either direction sh#ts me. I no more agree with the "America is satan" view than I do "all Muslims are terrorists". Balance!

I personally view the war shouldent of happened...and the iraqies dont seem really happy it happend either...a good majority asre peace loving folk who do not wish to know war...but enough of that...

You are right extremists are a bad thing even if they do agree with some of our points....

But his views on the chevrolet engine are something i do agree on...although without the drama they are a good engine (something he will not say) but they arnt what i would want in my car...we did find a mootpoint when i said i think the 283was the best engine chevrolet built...i have had many experiances driveing some of chevs offerings and i found this one to drive the best...and they have the best rod angles of all the chev lumps too...the caddy engine was an intersting point and something i enjoyed learning about...once you give them a decent manifold the entier engine comes to life...and they wherre no shrinking violet before either....his opions where based on facts and well thought out...though i dont theink the chev engine was deserving of the bashing he gave it....

Buit of course im not fussed either way i can talk under wet cement i enjoyedthe convo :)
