greeting newcommers

sometimes, just for the hell of it, i decide to pm the new members to welcome them to the forums. just wondering, anyone else does this from time to time? or am i the only one to do this?

I do for a few, but not too often. When they do create a topic to introduce themselves, I'll greet usually however. Perhaps an automated welcome message sent to their account when it is created? Who knows! :p
