At the 2003 Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) show in Las Vegas, Pontiac debuts a Vibe Autocross show vehicle, one of several performance-tuned, specially equipped models suitable for Autocross racing applications.

Vibe Autocross show vehicle uses a supercharged 1.8-liter engine that has been tuned to generate 175 horsepower. The supercharger is available as a Pontiac performance part.

The Autocross Vibe also features performance-tuned custom struts and shocks, Corsa cat-back exhaust, stainless steel brake rotors and calipers and a lowered ride height.

A number of accessories give the Autocross Vibe a substantial, performance-oriented appearance, including custom front and rear fascia extensions, side rockers and rear dual spoilers from the Vibe Sport Appearance package (currently available), new grille and projector beam headlamps. To achieve a sleeker look, the Autocross Vibe is not equipped with a roof rack.

Custom 18-inch wheels and BF Goodrich g-force T/A KD performance tires complete the performance package. Inside, custom aluminum pedals, a custom shifter knob and racing-inspired front seats with four-point belts add performance touches.

Optically enhanced exterior paint in Electric Blue coats the Vibe Autocross. This paint is developed by Color Design Studio of America and produced by Sherwin Williams.

The Vibe production vehicle blends the best of several vehicle classes ? performance sedan, sport hatchback, midsize sedan and small SUV. Its well-thought out, highly flexible interior offers innovative storage solutions to accommodate people and gear, while its sporty styling expresses fun and flexibility at an affordable price attractive to younger buyers.
