uuuuurgh, another great car ruined by the need to pass US tests.
The original was a compact, fast, maneoverable beauty.
The US variant was ....
- gutless with a smaller detuned engine
- ugly with huge extra bumpers
- and wallowed like a battleship with suspension raised by an inch to meet headlamp height rules.
This and the MGB ruined European sports car reputation in the US for years to come :(

me too, but only those straight buttresses.
Not sure what the rear lights were from on a DMC - he raided parts bins of maor manufacturers. Might have been Alfa :)
