I agree with all choices so far.
A couple of obvious ones have been left off.

1. Subaru Impreza WRX/STi
2. Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 8
3. Subaru Legacy GT
4. Ford Falcon BA GT
5. Holden Monaro CV8
6. Alfa Romeo 156 GTA
7. BMW 645i
8. HSV Commodore GTS
9. Audi RS6
10. Mazda MX5

There's another list for you IB4R :) .
By the way, I strongly agree with the Prius/Insight. Either hybrid or feul cell cars will dominate in 25 years and they'll be remembered as the first of the breed. Or, it we'll go done another path and they'll be treasured as eccentric oddballs...

Wouldn't a Honda Civic or Nissan Sentra count in that? They have also become very popular and the only reason I'm mentioning them is because of the Focus and Golf. Got to be fair, you know?

The Golf and Focus that were mentioned were not the everyday run of the mill ones. Instead they were the limited edition high performance Golf R32 and Focus RS. Standard Golf's and Focus's will only qualify as classics when very few are left, but they'll never be treasured in the same way a R32 or RS will be (for example a mid 1970s Escort RS1600 is much more treasured as a classic than a mid 1970s Escort 1.3L or a late '70s Golf GTi is more treasured than a standard late 70s Golf).
Thus, standard Civics and Sentra's will qualify for classic status on age and rarity grounds once the majority of them have died. However, the only ones which will be treasured will the the stonking Civic Type R and the Sentra SE-R.

What does "stonking" mean?

What does "stonking" mean?

Very quick. But then maybe I've been reading too many issues of the British magazine Car. That's one of the adjectives they've used to describe the Civic Type R.
