Bill Strong's WIP Northstar V8 Toyota MR2 is absolutely amazing. I've been following his progress for quite a while. He just posted a video of the new engine up and running :)

Take a look for yourselves. It's at the bottom of the page... 31 megs...

sounds.......so powerfull, in such small car. wouldn't mind seein it kickin some butt at the 1/4 mile:), specially when ppl think its a 4 cylinder and hear such sound.

btw ain't that the engine on the mustang cobra R and the mach 1? the northstar V8.

i'd love to have the tools to do such things, things that not many have done, and the creativity.

Nope, Northstar is a Cadillic V8 moniker... This particular one was from a 90s DeVille or something like that... It's a very smooth, well-built engine.

Very cool. Reminds of the Cobra and the Sunbeam Tiger. Both small cars with big american powerplants and more torque than they should have been able to handle:D. Northstars are nice engines, but it might have been a better choice to go with a gen III small block, it might have been a bit more powerful and compact.

The other thing that is good about that is that it sounds good on video, normally it doesnt sound anything like as good on video as it does in real life.
