This is what I imangine the 612 GTC to look like if Ferrari were to build such a car. I combined looks of the 360 GTC and 575 GTC, Please tell me what you think. I put alot of time and effort into this Chop, so please if you think I deserve the Reputaition points please add to it.

hmm . it doesn't look bad . but the 612 . altough a Ferrari . is not a racing car :D

SPHFerrari

good start, but there are some problems. the vents dont blend very well, the roof scoop is at a strange angle, and the 612 is front engined, the rims are flat, and the wing is at a weird angle.

Fabio Ferrari

I would like to know exactly what you meant by the 612 is front engined, do you think I didnt know that, The 575 is front engine and Ferrari made 575 GTC, I think you do not know what you are talking about. I know more than anyone about Ferrari.

werty, other ferrari lovers any comments?

SPHFerrari

so where does the roof scoop lead?

Fabio Ferrari
07-19-2004, 01:45 PM
Yes now I do understand what you meant by the 612 being a front engined automobile, altough the 575 GTC has a Roof Scoop, and it is front engined, I believe the purpose of the this is to cool the driver. I did feel offended by what you had previously said, so I may have over reacted, but I do stick to my word.

so where does the roof scoop lead?

good point but it could be like WRC cars they are front engined still have roof scoops to get air into the cabbin i think, they arent just for getting cool air to the engine

his chop doesnt have a roof scoop

Fabio Ferrari
07-19-2004, 01:53 PM
My chop used to have a roof scoop, but I decided to remove it, after I had a second look at it. Ya Mustang you are right, thats what I thaught, Roof Scoops are made for cooling the engine but are also for Cooling the driver, all Rally Cars are front engine and have Roof Scoops.

Not a bad chop, but as stated before, its pretty bold to say "I know more about Ferrari" or anything for that matter. Here's a little test of your knowledge (We'll go on the honor system to say that you won't look up the answer).

When was Scuderia Ferrari founded?

Fabio Ferrari
07-19-2004, 07:18 PM
The Scuderia was founded in 1939 by Enzo Ferrari, after he decided to leave Alpha Romeo and begin a team of his own, Originally Enzo Ferrari had only intended on building Formula 1 cars, but he was forced into the world of GT cars to make some money. Tell me do you know where the legenedary Prancing Horse emblem originated.

ok, ok. i had never noticed the scoop on the 575gtc. i hadnt thought of the cooling the cabin.

even i know that the symbol was of a italian flying ACE at an air base near enzo's home!! (cant remember his name though). the ace eventually died although he was the best italian pilot at the time. :)

Fabio Ferrari
07-20-2004, 08:20 AM
well done whiteballz, that is correct, he was Enzo's Best Friend, and he always flew planes with a prancing horse on the side of the plane, and he died in World War 2 so Enzo Ferrari made this Prancing Horse his logo, in memory of his friend.

Actually that's incorrect, Scuderia Ferrari was founded in 1929, when Enzo was still with Alfa Romeo. Check out some old Alfa Romeo race cars, and you'll see the trademark prancing horse with the letters S F bellow it.

Fabio Ferrari
07-20-2004, 02:25 PM
No my friend you are incorrect, the prancing horse was the logo of Enzo Ferrari and he put it on everything he raced, He drove for Alfa Romeo, the S F on the badge mean Scuderia Ferrari, which is Italian meaning Ferrari Stable, or in modern terms Ferrari Garage, this meant it was Enzo Ferrari's car but not his team, Alfa Romeo did not have anything to do with the Ferrari make. Enzo Ferrari did not start the Ferrari Brand untill 1939 when he formed his own team called Scuderia Ferrari, this is when the team was founded. I think you are confused, and thaught that that Ferrari was simply a body supplyer and Alfa Romeo made the engines, but this is incorrect, Alfa Romeo made everything, and it was not untill 1939 when Enzo Ferrari First built a body and engine.

Yes, Ferrari didn't build cars until 1939, however I'm talking about the racing team ~ Scuderia Ferrari, which was started in 1929. Here check out this link http://www.histomobile.com/histomob/presmark.asp?chat=13&lan=2

No I am sorry but this information is also incorrect, and I was not talking about the Road Cars, the Road Cars were first built in the 1950's the 166 Inter was the first road car. I have read on a wall at the Galleria Ferrari in Maranello, that the Ferrari was founded in 1939, I stick to my word because it is correct. I would also like to tell you that Enzo Ferrari raced with the Prancing horse in the early 1910's this is when it first appeared on one his formula 1 cars, and this as you know was not a Ferrari it was an Alfa Romeo, I am a very proud Italian and Ferrari fan and I will continue arguing that I am correct. But I well let you think what you want to think, it does not matter to me.

Hello, I am very sorry if I have been rude or forcefull, it is just that I am very passionate about Ferrari and Everything Italian, I did not mean to be rude at all, for those who I offended, I am sorry, and look for forgiveness. SPHFerrari I would like to know how you know I own a Ferrari, I would be happy to post pictures of my car, if so please tell me too.

I would also like to tell you that Enzo Ferrari raced with the Prancing horse in the early 1910's
It was toward the end of 1919 before Enzo raced in a CMN.

The Cavallino Rampante ( prancing horse ) was used by the Italian WW1 pilot Major Francesco Baracca as insignia on his plane in the early 10s through to his death in 1981. From the Ferrari history books a quote ...
Mr. Ferrari further indicated that the symbol
of the prancing pony was given to him by Contessa Paolina, Baracca's
mother, to "bring him luck". Ferrari accepted and only changed Baracca's
background to yellow to indicate Modena, his own home city."

Minor clarification of a great man and marque :)

Small little correction, there was no Formula one in the 1910's. Just thought I'd let ya know. :) However, I could be wrong on the information, website could be wrong. However it would be nice if you could back up your claims with proof.

Ok, not trying to sound like an a**hole or anything, but as my user name indicates I am a huge Ferrari fan as well. However I'm only 19 and continuing to learn more about everyday. By the way, what literature have you read, and do you know if this literature is available in the US.

Thank you

I know you are a Ferrari Tifosi, jus like your names states, and I like anyone who is a Fan, I respect all people who say they like Ferrari, and to me there is nothing better than a Prancing Horse. As for the Literature I that I have read, I have read Books Published by Ferrari in Italian and English some of them are "50 anni Deluxe" "Opera Omnia 1946 - 2002" "Ferrari L'unico Ed. speciale" all of these I have read in Italian but I know for a fact they are available in English as well, because I used to live in Canada, I am sure they are available in the US at your local Ferrari Dealership. Now I would like to tel you that I am 24 and I am also still learning, I have payed many visits to the Ferrari Factory and Galleria in Maranello and I always know what is new at Ferrari. I would also I moved back to Italy when I was 19, and the Ferrari that I own was given to me by my uncle before he passed away. well I hope this answered all of your questions, and I jus want everyone to know I am not as arrogant as I may sound on here at times.

Ciao
