Ok, this may sound strange, but I am trying to figure out something. Everyone knows the Lamborghini Countach, and the Ferrari F40 have headlights that pop out above the regular ones. Anyway, I have seen a few pics with these cars at night, and those pop out headlights are the only ones with the lights on. So I have 3 questions.
1. Have any of you seen a pic of these cars with both the headlights on?
2.Why didn't they just used the bottom headlights that are always out?
3.Are these just for show or something?

All help is greatly appreciated. I made this thread so someone could help me out, not yell at me.
Any pics with both lights is greatly appreciated as well.
Thanks,
Guys and Gals.

As far as my relatively poor knowledge of pop up headlights goes, the Pop-ups are usually not used as Parking lights, as the bottom lights near the indicators usually are, they may be just the high beam or the Night-driving lights, used to light the path ahead for these two wonderful cars.

And i thought the F40 had sunken in lamps rather than Pop Ups? Ah well, i was sold a dud on that piece of info.

Well, I think they were up just for the pic. But the F40, I'm not sure.

Thanks for the pic. But can anyone answer my 3 questions. It's annoying me. Lamborghini's site doesn't help much, but I'll check out Ferrari.

I'm gonna go with IB4R here, and say that the pop-ups house the low and high beams, and the lower lights are driving lights and turn signals.

Oh ok. I see the signals on the F40, but the Countach? I guess they're the same thing.

I don't mean to make you look foolish, but.....

This is the front of the Countach, see the lights that have the clear case? there the turn and parking lights.

Now this doesn't have the pop-up's up, but you can see where they come up from.

Easy?
Thought so.

Ok. Thanks for that. But a few other things on my mind just go with the design, I guess. Anyways, thanks for helping me with that. Not confused. :D

i guess that ferrari and lamborghini design those lights because the angle of the bonnets didn't allow enough space for the lights, or imagine if the lights existed like the parking light, the bonnet would have to have a huge amount of glassed surface, to allow those lights to be vertical inside the bonnet

i guess... :o
