another pic and a vid I meant to post earlier :)

and to save the question being asked again. YES the GroupB cars DID go this quickly, there is no speeded up video tricks here to make it seem fast. Unecessary :)

I suggest more proof reading, or less alcohol. :D

Its nice to see that some people still think I'm "young". Not so sure about "whipper-snapper" though.

The 205 T16 is a fantastic little car.
Seeing all these old videos you've got, it is little wonder there were fatalities.

I am slightly concerned about the WRC though. Even though the cars are slower, they still come off the road at high speed, luckily they always seem to do it away from spectators.
All it takes is one person in the wrong place at the wrong time and the Health and Safety muppets will try to get it banned. :(

Organisers are now REQUIRED by FIA to manage the crowds to prevent accidents involving spectators. So no longer will a rally stage be run if the people aren't away from the dangerous places. The 'worst' countries have all had stages cancelled this year.
If they don't do it themselves then there's a risk that WRC will only be run on "spectator stages" which are a great spectacle but have as much to do with rallying as drag strips have to racing.

I wonder what sort of cars we would have today if Group B had continued?

Nice work keep the vids coming.

mmm group B, AMAZING power in those things, shame they cant have a modern day group B, but obviously safety comes first.

My fav classic rally car is the Audi Quattro S1.

Here's photos of how rally cars have developed since that era:
