I just upgraded to XP Professional the other day, and I installed Adobe Photoshop Elements 2.0. I tried to run the program (after installation), and it brought up a window that said 'handle invalid.' I have no clue what to do, and I really want to know. PLEASE HELP!

Yeah, that's new.

Anyway... Sounds like you have an extension wrong somehow (.exe, .bmp, .jpg, ect.) Try reloading the program or getting the latest update of the program and see how that works.

Well, it worked when I had my computer on 98, and I haven't had trouble until since I updated to XP.

I put it here because that's what I use for my chops and such, incase you were wondering.

Here's another thing to try:

Right click on the .exe file, then goto properties. Select the Compatability tab and select "Run this program in compatability mode for:" then choose Windows 98/ Windows ME.

Hopefully, that will work. If not, try the update and reload idea I first mentioned. XP, all versions including XP 64, are backwards compatable for other Windows programs.

Yeah, I did try that. I will get the update.

There's maybe an other problem, have you updated your XP with the service pack SP2?
Cause if you did, some users have already had some difficulties of compatibility to run a lot of programs including photoshop...
The editers are about to release some patches to handle the situation... :)

D@^^# forgot about that, but, still, having the latest release is safer as well.

Don't you know the 212 softwares incompatibles with SP2? see it big boy
For sure it's a good thing to enhance the security but like dat...

Biggysmalls-you're wrong, because I just installed it sucessfully on another computer (thankfully I've got 2) with XP Pro on it and it works fine.

Although it would be nice to get it to work on the computer in my room.
