For some bizzare reason I know that that is one of the cars used in Baz Luhrmann's "Romeo & Juliet (http://www.romeoandjuliet.com/setting/cars.html)"

A "Noble Executioner".

My head is so full of useless trivia - it just isn't funny.

Damn, I'm australian and even I know that car is a 80's model buick regal. Nice body mods, considered doing something similar...

Buick Regal, Pontiac Gran Prix, Chevy Monte Carlo, or even a Oldsmobile Cutlass... its one of the general's G-body cars in disguise!

I'm not sure of the exact year this body style came out, but my sister drove a 1979 Gran Prix that had it. (Her car actually carried a genuine Pontiac 301 V8, before GM stuck 'corporate' Chevy smallblock 305's in the whole lineup.) I know the 1977 g-bodies were quite a bit larger. So I'm pretty sure that this bodystyle came out in 1978 or 1979.

The body style was killed when these nameplates all went FWD in 1988. The FWD cars were built at different plants and the outdated assembly line ran on for a few months extra and a few RWD 1988 cars were produced... The most collectible probably being the last handfull of turbo V6 Buick Grand Nationals.

We don't generally resurrect old threads... not really correct etiquette :p

But on this occasion, I'm intrigued too. I love that car, and would really love to buy it...

It is from Romeo + Juliet (I believe). The plate says Cap... so I would guess that that car is from the Capulets, maybe Tybalt's car perhaps.

Yeah true i didn't realise it was a 2 year old thread ;) sorry bout that. I love that car, its one of the only modified cars that I love cause it flows. Its sharp and smooth and has a classic gangsta feel to it. Would love to see it with some classic muscle car mags or maybe tubbed a little. Its a nice change to the usual 'movie' modified cars that are nothing more then masked piles of crap that usually explode! lol

I'd give my left nut to go cruisin in that car for a weekend.

The Wake of the Living-Dead Thread!!! Beware!!!
I don't know what's the point in resurrecting a thread 18-months old, but since it's been already done, I can tell you that the car is a pimped Mercury Monarch, that in the movie belonged to Mercutio.

I'm looking hard but can't see a mercury monarch as a basis for that car...

Still looks GM to me.

And I haven't seen the show you guys are referring to, but the picture makes it look like it has a slanted back window. It thats the case it was based one of the aero version of the Pontiac Gran Prix or Monte Carlo SS that were put out trying to make them a little more competitive in NASCAR competition.

thats funny ive been searching as much info on this car as possible because since ive first seen it i fell in love and do plan to re-create it for myself thats why im trying to sell my truck to make space for an 86' monte carlo im told is what it is. unfortunatly we may never know for sure because everything below the windows seems to be fiberglassed. ill continue researching but if you find out anything more please email me at [email protected] cheers:cool:
