Although I own a Japanese car and well... Some of the content bothers me, I do find some parts of the video really funny.

Some teens have too much time on their hands. :) :p

Anyway, that was hilarious, but I prefer Japanese street racing to American. American's love to street race stock cars, and Japanese love to street race real cars.

Funny ass video, so true!
Yes, Americans like to race stock 13-12 second cars while the Japanese like to race modified 15 second "real" cars.

HAHA, that was just another ricer joke...
Truly the V8s that they were refering to are muscle cars, because most ricers are to ignorant to respect them.

Yeah, I know, I just want to slap a Koenigsegg CCR in some ricers face.

The change from Group A to V8 Supercars wasnt just because of the dominance of the R32's, the Sierra's had been causing a bit of an upset from about 1987 onwards and the R32 just added to that

i liked the group A series more because it had a more open field rather then just Holden vs Ford. if Holden and Ford were copping a ass wupping from the japanese then they shooda stepped up not have the rules changed to make it easier for them!

its fair enough really for both arguments.....holden and ford had a major whinge at the first sign of competition, but how do you competitvely match turbo AWD's against V8 RWD's

as much as i hate to say this...
some imports are insanely fast dudes...

fpv, wasnt it the mini that kicked the v8's (and others) asses around bathurst?

4cyl and fwd :) :P :D

fpv_gtho
09-15-2004, 12:25 AM
unfortunately....yes....

back in the day of the Galaxies and BMC Mini's, nothing could compensate for agility around Mt Panorama and i believe the short wheelbase of the Mini did alot to overcome the shortfalls of FWD

Blue Supra

Serious?!? i mini cooper owned Bathurst? What year?

fpv_gtho
09-15-2004, 12:55 AM
1966 i think it was...they campaigned with great success before and after, but that mustve been the year the Cortina GT's Galaxie's and Jag's had pretty bad luck

You dont, the loser keeps losing until they either come up with something better or they quit.

fpv_gtho
09-15-2004, 01:32 AM
well maybe thats how we got left with just Holden and Ford

Blue Supra
09-15-2004, 01:36 AM
We got left with Holden and Ford because they had a winge and instead of the organisers telling them "Step up or Step out" they said OK little babies we'll make the rules impossible for anyone but you two to compete in. When Mitsubishi wanted to enter the V8 they got shunned and put up for a huge outlay of cash they just cant afford. Discrimination against import cars!

fpv_gtho
09-15-2004, 01:42 AM
its not discrimination, if they let them in without asking any $$$, it would almost be discrimination to Holden and Ford. That $60million they asked of Mitsubishi was a fair example of the investment made by Holden and Ford. Pity Super Tourers never took off...

Blue Supra
09-15-2004, 01:52 AM
So if i make an investment in a new car does that entitle me to ask people who ride in my investment for money? If im a tight%&^* then probably, but im not. Same thing here. So Ford and Holden made an investment, let others enjoy it, when they can actually afford it then ask for something, but dont prevent them from competing for the sake of money.

fpv_gtho
09-15-2004, 01:58 AM
Its more than an investment to Ford and Holden...its one of their key areas for competition, it provides a huge image boost for both companies large car range, it provides some bragging rights for many V8 owners etc. mitsubishi needed this image boost badly and without the $10 million up front, then $10 million a year for a minimum of 5 years made it a serious business deal for Mitsubishi and made sure they were accounting for the benefits

Blue Supra
09-15-2004, 02:18 AM
But that still doesnt give them the right to hog the V8 supercars.

fpv_gtho
09-15-2004, 02:26 AM
Well until recently, the WRX's and EVO's hogged the ARC and it was only Toyota's prototype Corolla that's opened the category up and now its rumoured Ford will enter the Focus next yeat, despite the new model probably coming in around May next year. Its likely to be the same group of people who took the XR6T into the 2003 Targa Tasmania
