This is the Tamiya kit built box stock, painted with Tamiya TS8 and unpolished because the real F40's have a rough finish due to the kevlar weave pattern underneath the paint.

I used a .005 black pen to color in the 'belt'.

This is a joint build between my nephew and I, he started the kit years ago as I was teaching him how to build, then he moved away and no longer had time to finish it. He had assembled the chassis/engine and most of the interior, I painted the body and finished it.

No, it's a glossy display base.

interesting remark you made about your polishing policy.I have seen many red F40's in real life and the paint never struck me as being particularly different. I am almost sure that if you scale up a 1/24 non polished paint to 1/1 you'll get something pretty rough. Recently I did the red Modena and sprayed TS8 sraight on the (cleaned) bodywork, and then only very little polishing was needed. Can't remember how long ago I did the same F40 kit, but at that I found the quality of the plastic good enough just to refrain from painting at all. Would never do that again though.

yes that last pic is a real car no way would there be that much detail on a tiny tiled floor and that wheel and everything is perfect!
