View Full Version : New Cars

Good day,

Even though we currently feature well over 1700 cars in our database, I do realise that there many more cars that can be added. Unfortunately our time is limited and we can only publish cars of which we have proper information on and more importantly pictures we own the copyright of. Over the past couple of years our photographers have visited dozens of events, so we do have quite an archive of pictures.

At the moment the cars featured are picked by us, but we would like to give you the opportunity to indicate what cars you would like to see added. Please do realise that we are bound by the aforementioned factors and we can not add each and every car suggested.

This thread will be moderated strictly, so please just post the car you want added and if you happen to own it, please indicate that as well. Posts with additional comments will be deleted!

Thank you for your time and enjoy your visit and future visits

I'm sorry but I can't feature that car until I get high resolution imagery of it that I'm allowed to publish. That is the main problem with most cars provided by you guys. I might have some 944 shots.

i think its a thread thats always in the same position, in the case of this thread its always up the top of website discussion. this way if no-one posts on it for about a month, it doesnt slowly find its way down the list of threads and end up not being shown, in which case, you would have to reset the types of forums you want to view judged on their last post to get it up and post on it

a lot of classic cars are actually quite cool, and i wouldn't mind if we had them on the website. Stuff from the 70's, 60's, 80's and such i find really quite attractive. some, like the Aston Martin Lagonda, i can live without, some like the Ford Escort RS1800 i want really bad. could we do a special on old rally cars (Group B,A and 60's and 70's racers)???

oh, btw, i thought the Audi Aztec was from 1988, it came in a group called the Aspid, the Asgard and the Aztec. I heard it actually went into a production of 200 cars.

Just two Escorts for you then, one, (admittedly low quality pic) where regular Top Gear might be able to recognize the driver. BTW the new forum allow much easier uploading of pictures. Great.

The Alvis reminds me of my own personal mount while doing service: The DAF YP408. It was diesel powered and 6X8. It could do 85 kph on the road. The picture is taken from a dedicated website to this vehicle.

Perhaps it would attract a lot of people if there were proper articles about cars that are very common. For example my dads Citroen Xsara. There is simply no place on the web i could find with proper story and pics.Since lots of people own cars like these (i mean common cars) it is likely that they search the web with these terms. If they end up at ucp, i can hear the ad-money flowing in :) These cars are also not too hard to come by for pictures.

"found" pics are normally under some sort of copyright. It would be probably OK to put them into a dedicated forum thread, but not on the main page as feature cars.

Would taking our own pictures of cars classify though? I'd be quite willing to go out and take pictures of cars that people don't get overseas, so that they can be used for UCP.

I agree, we need more common cars. It's mostly only the high performance/expensive versions of certain cars that are featured.

Examples: Megane RS and Clio RS but no normal Megane or Clio; Only the 406 and 407 Coupé Peugeots are featured, all the others are race cars or concept cars. Where's the 207, 206, 406, 407, 607, 806, 807 etc ?

Can't you get press releases with pictures from the manufacturers to put on the site ? If you can get these you can easily and quickly add a lot of cars. Get all the press releases from a certain make, add them, get press releases from another make, add them. etc etc.

EDIT: Maybe some simplyfying is in order as well. Take for example the BMW 760Li, 760i, 745i, 740d, 645 coupé, 650 coupé, 645 convertible, 650 convertible. They all have separte pages. Why is that ? Why not just a single page on "The E65/E66 7-series" and the "6-series Coupé" & "6-series Convertible". There are other types as well like: 730d, 730i, 740d, 745d, 750i, 735i, 630i and probably some other as well. Same goes for the 1-series and t
I can understand that you make a separate page for special models like the M models in BMW's case. It's not only like this with the BMWs.
