I hope Turbo_Fumes doesn't read this:

Werty, 3000GTs are awesome, the acceleration is outstanding even on a stock one, the AWD system is great and if you are aiming toward top speed that thing will get you over 150 pretty easy (Stock engine). It has high reving like most japanese cars but at the same time that beast has the same HP/Torque!! So no low torque on this japanese car! :)

But, my friend's 3000GT has had too many problems lately, the clutch has broken down many times, the A/C screen broke down too (1200$) a window broke down, and some other stuff that right now I don't remember... And all this with the car only having 30,000 Miles which can be considered NEW.

Now, you are aiming at one with 130,000 miles and from the same year (1992).

My dad owned a Mitsubishi back in 1992 and it had so many problems that he ended up selling it after a while.

So I don't know, maybe a concidence, maybe not. 130,000 Miles is a lot, but 500HP is a lot too :) I just hope it doesn't come with any problems, good luck with that.

get a 240sx and put an rb25det on it, it'd only be like $7000 for the whole thing!, then ya can spend the other 3k for lotza mods!!(sorry, am too 240sx baised).

the newer GT's are good, but ya sure ya gonna find 1 under 10k that doesn't have many miles/problems?(am sure ya can, but it wouldn't be that good).

mitsubishi just doesn't use quality parts on their cars, thats why it can sometimes break down, but that 1 was rebuilt with better parts, so it should be ok.

you can get nice F-body for that price, mods are cheap and easy, plus monster horsepower. Decent handling too, especially the V-8s

92 Corrado VR6-T. </VW fanboy>

Any drivetrain preference? RWD? AWD? 2 doors, 4 doors? Coupes or hatchbacks?

Fox-body 'stangs are great for the money. Same with older Camaros.

The low-end Integras are a dime a dozen anymore, and motor swaps are becoming easier to get and cheaper. 1st Gen DSM's are also good bang/buck cars.

If you're not completely opposed to FWD, might I seriously recommend a Mk3 GTI. The (gutless) 2.0's are, dare I say, peppy. The VR's are absolutely to kill for. There's lots of aftermarket for either. You can pick up a 2.0 for ~$4500 and a well-maintained VR can go for upwards of $8000. A little pricy, but usually adult owned and not abused.

Look at a 240Z or 260Z, you can get a nice one for about 5 grand, use the other 5 grand to put a Chevy 350 V8 in that.

Are you gunna sell your Truck werty?

I like the idea of a Corrado, personally. But you could also get a Nissan 240SX, make sure it has SR20DET engine in it!

How bout this nice 240SX? Looks pretty cool to me....

How 'handy' are you ?

See if you can find an old Kelmark Dino. One of the few Ferrari replicas that looks the part. There's one around here I've seen at a couple of meets. The Dino is one of my all time favourties :)

Talkign to the kits guys you're not limited to the VW engine either ( though it still wins races on track ) but others have dropped rotaries in for a power 'upgrade' :)

However, kits need you to be prepared to 'fettle' them - but any Ferrari-fan (!) woudl expect that of a car :)

If it was me, i'd be looking for something like a Fox Mustang, although that 3000GT is a nice car. I cant understand why the owner after spending all that money, didnt upgrade the injectors

NoOne can probably tell you the stories of the supercharged Fox Mustang he had with the 5.0L :p

how about a hottro? My 83 quattro is so far so good, and cost me 6750....needs a little work though. Still, it's a blast to drive, rare, and at the low end of your spectrum pricewise.

I'd say '94-95 Mustang. Theyre just getting cheap (a good original can be had for 6k easy) and many with the basic mods such as gears, short-throw shifter, rims/tires, etc can be had for not much more than that. Add to the fact that the 302 is probably one of the most infinitely modifieable engines ever built, and the Mustang one of the most modifieable cars ever built, you have an extremely versatile platform for doing whatever it is you want. Not to mention that IMHO it's far and away the best looking mustang of the modern Mustangs, 2005 model included.
