Australian Internation Motor Show

Just 14 more days till the doors open in Darling Harbour for the countries largest motor show, with a high turnout of supercars including the Ford GT and a strong show stopping presence from the locals, with a planned Torana hatch from Holden based off GM's Kapp platform, and possibly something from FPV (Ford have said theyve got a show stopper planned). On the FPV site though, its talking up the production Typhoon and has a silhouette of another car. You might think that theyre both for the Typhoon, as nothing much has been released about it since Melbourne earlier this year, but if you click on it, you get a better view of the silhouette, and no joke, its got a bonnet bulge.... :eek: ;)

I wouldve thought the Mk2 update wouldnt be that special to have it shown only as a silhouette. The 6 speed's easily the biggest change

Wauu i can see the Black image and i notice the rear of the car is different + bonnet BULGE :o, is that the new GT-P or some GT-HO concept =S because i can only see black and it already looks good.

One things for sure, with what looks like the GT spoiler and bonnet bulge, it isnt the Typhoon. I think the only sure way to tell is to wait unfortunately :(

It looks as tall as it, perhaps a small profile change, but keeping it V8 Supercar based...With the Ford GT also being shown, one might think FPV done a little bit of an engine swap

yeh its like as tall, but its much wider and has an incline unlike the GT, engine swap ay :O, i cant see them getting rid of the BOSS engine already, it is a good engine that my dad rekons that you could much more power out of if you were prepared to totally strip it down and change alot of the working parts. :)

Sick as a dog :( , I poped on to have a cap cook. Had a look at that pick and noticed 2 things, long front shorter back. Looked like something from mad max ;) ;)

Motor Group Australia (MG Rover) told me yesterday that they will have one or (maybe) two Noble M12 GTO 3Rs :cool: and they are hoping to have a Pagani Zonda (yellow) on there as well. :D

The DB9 :) will almost certainly be on the Aston stand with possibly a Vanquish as well, I'd also expect a RR Phantom to be nearby.

I have yet to confirm if the F430 will be there yet, I'll update later.

I'm yet to work out what day I'll be there, but those interested in a UCP meet up PM me

I love that kappa holden built on, Maybe called torana, The yanks said it's only a platform that built for 4cyl only hahahaha, If Aussie's can't do know body can, TTV6 :D in the baby to rival BMW maybe :D Another job well done by aussies:)

until i can see it in real life, i wont judge. But i didnt know u could tell how good it looks from a 2D silhouette

just the shape is hideous. the boot look like a '98 rex with a rice wing.
not to mention it looks unbalanced.

The only 2 door BA i have seen didn't look good, Roof was to high and the boot was to long, And the roof can't be lowerd cause of the head room problems already so it's a little off to be honest :)

i think that holden will have the edge on the new falcons with the VZ
monaro will be better i think if the car is a 2 door

maybe the edge in styling, but thats about it. Wheels compared the auto SV6 and XR6 and the XR6 done surprising good, i was expecting its arse to get kicked, yet Wheels gave it the nod over the SV6. I dont think that much more's going to change until PS41, VE and the updated Camry and Falcon.

As for the silhouette, i think it looks like the same profile as a GT, i'll hae another look and see if i can see any difference like with the rear spoiler

The rear spoiler is definately different and the bulge doesnt look as big either, but thats probably because the front looks longer i rekon. Somehow i rekon its a 2 door and theyll call it superbird, I THINK! thats what they called the old 2 door GT's, or was is Thunderbird, i forget :confused:

The old 2 door GT's were just Hardtop's, superbird i think is a trademark of Plymouth...

Something that could be changing how the spoiler looks, apart from it only being a silhouette, is the fact its not a complete side on view. i cant see anything else different with the body otherwise

The Home page pic shows the spoiler and its no different to current GT as i see, its no different, could be a Coupe from the doodes who made the 300+ they may have struck a deal with ford at last you never know, the best bet a GT-HO (concept)

Alfa Romeo were planning on bringing the Brera concept, but it was damage being unloaded so they had to take it back to Italy
