Did the photo load?

Well that is a 1969 Chevy Camaro RS. 350 in it, stock, stock trans, mostly original. I am going to buy it, the car is being sold for under $8,000.

I would like to make this a Yenko 427 clone... so I am going to need some help.

Where could I find a cheap (under 10K) 427 Crate motor?
Where could I find the correct Yenko Badges and decals?
Where could I fine some side exit dual exhaust under the doors?
And should I go with 3.73 or 4.10 gearing?

** Told it was a Rally Sport, but I am not 100% sure on it.

GM directly supplies crate motors for all applications.

For badges and exhaust, try finding an aftermarket parts catalog (JC Whitney style).

As for gearing, are you going to use it mainly as a cruiser or a drag car?

3.73 if it'll see mostly streets, and 4.10 if you're going to drag race it.

Good luck with the project.

You have no Idea what I would do for that car :p

why make it a fake yenko? Just drop the 427 in and be happy :)

yeah hehe

The car will be daily driver / thursday night drag car. So would 3.90 be better?

you'll need a few more things:

fiberglass deck spoiler
2" cowl induction hood
air dam

any custom shop could do the logos on the headrests and hood. I think Edelbrock and GM have ZL1 jet 427, but I'm not too sure. If you relly wanted a monster of an engine and had a few $$$ to throw around, you can buy an a all aluminum gen III small block with new crank, rod, piston and LS6 heads and make it a 427, like the C5R has.

Don't clone the car dude, there are a lot knowledgable hot rodders out there who will spot a clone a dis you for it. Baddabang is right, just drop the 427 in it and maybe a cool custom paint job. For both street and weekend drags I'd go with the 3.90 rear. My first car was a 69 with a 427 also, believe me man, you'll have a sweet ride!! Good luck!!!

PS. Next time upload the pic as an attachment, it helps the page load faster.

well I know I need the spoilers, and it has the hood on it.

3.90 sounds good in a detroit locker rear...

I wanna clone the Yenko because the Yenko is my dream car, and I know there is a real Yenko in my area, its green, but its allways garaged.

For the price of this race built 427,I could get a stock jet 502... would that be better then the 427?

Go for it. I love the Yenko's, they are so cool! I have a pic of one for my desktop... and you shoudln't give 2 shits if some fool disses you 'cos your car is a replica, they aren't the ones with a 427 Yenko-copy! (anyway, if you make it real good, they'll never know.... just remeber the headrests...)

Clones will bring you bigger money if you ever decide to sell it. Granted, not as much as a genuine one, but more nonetheless.

Personally, I have no issue with clones, how else can you get the look, performance and style of such a limited production car? The issue I have is with people who create a clone then try to pass it off as the genuine car, not so much at the local meets, but the guys who try to profit immensely from it, these are the guys that give cloners a bad image.

My opinion, clone the Yenko if you really want to, but let it be known that it is a clone/replica of an original, or just enjoy it as a classic musclecar/streetrod ... there is no shame in either.
