The GTS-R is just a stripped down racer much like the Mustang GT-R, i have a feeling that this may be a nations cup racer eventually but the KWs would definately have to be upped.

HSV GTS-R
335KW@6200RPM
605NM@4800RPM
id like to know its weight though

Going by the specs id imagine it would be very light as theres practically no interior! and all this lightweight stuff they say

fpv_gtho
10-06-2004, 10:05 PM
Well the Monaro standard is a bit shy of 1700kg, and the 427C was a bit above 1500kg.....alot of the weight in new cars is in the structure to make them as safe as the manufacturer intended, its why the BA is such a lard arse

Colty

Apparently the interior is almost all carbon fibre if u look at the specs sheet

Im still not expecting anythin drastic....the V8 Supercars still weigh almost 1400kg..

ELGT

man thats how much me missuses daewoo weighs :D

fpv_gtho
10-07-2004, 04:04 AM
well the EVO7 was 1400kg as well, compared to about 1250kg for an STi...V8 Supercars despite still having the original chassis, are almost built around the roll cage

I like the front grille on the clubby, much more aggressive look! :)
not sure about the back but...
the maloo looks hoooooooort!:D

Hey if i didn't need a back seat i would have a maloo R8 they are the best looking utes on the road they even look better then most of the sedans they might even get more looks :D

i dont agree. the back doesnt look good to me. because its a ute it must be very functional at the back, which influences the design. they have the same standard back assembly as the normal ute i beleive, with the little bit of bodykit on the bottom :)

i would prefer the new GTS coupe over the maloo R8 i think.

I think thats stupid though, FPV have now taken the hard tonnou cover off the standard list as too many people complained it restricted the load space.

There isn't much you can change but twin exhaust lower bodykit change and rear wing i think it's more then enough :D

FastFalcon

The senator looks like somthing off a horor movie and the club r8 looks all agressive on some angles and X monaro wimpy on the othe angles, HSV stuffed up on design agian they dont even look as mean they look fugly.

what im saying is it looks too "standard". the GTS coupe looks better from all angles IMO, so thats the one i would be getting if i was to have a 2 door.

also its more practical with 4 seats :)

But they have a rear that can be changed, It's very hard to change a ute's rear:)

i reckon most guys under 30 can find plenty of practicality out of 2 seats and a tub out the back.....:D :p

i know, thats why i dont like it :) its just one of the limitations that comes with a ute.

SlickHolden
10-07-2004, 07:08 AM
But no over ute has twin exhaust and thats what makes it differn't :)

fpv_gtho
10-07-2004, 07:09 AM
Im sure the SS ute's got a twin exhaust, same with any other VZ LS1 ute :p

SlickHolden
10-07-2004, 07:40 AM
True lol But this is a real twin pipe like VZ monaro one on ether side looks cool :D

fpv_gtho
10-07-2004, 07:42 AM
like the old twin pipes, the ones you know instantly what it is......shit my brothers got a HQ with a 253 in it and even thats got a full dual exhaust

SlickHolden
10-07-2004, 07:55 AM
That would sound alright to :D

fpv_gtho
10-07-2004, 07:59 AM
well things like that, you dont just see instantly what it is, you can damned well hear it

Luciferous
10-07-2004, 08:11 AM
Yes, it ticks me off when car makers skimp on doin the dual exhaust thing, I know theyre limited by so many factors, but the fact of the matter is that they look so damn cool, and i havent seen one car that wouldnt look better by having them

fpv_gtho
10-07-2004, 08:14 AM
I think the BA suffers cause some people will only do a single pipe around the IRS, then they can only go on one side otherwise it'll go next to the fuel tank or something....they'll think of any reason these days, but at least theres places like Herrod that'll still make what you want

SlickHolden
10-07-2004, 08:27 AM
My brother spent hours there one day, He also said they had a holden there i went like this  :D

fpv_gtho
10-07-2004, 08:32 AM
thats quite a surprise...i woulda thought that most holden ppl wouldve gone to like CAPA or STARR performance....that peter starr's got sme decent kits, as well as his brother being part of HRT

SlickHolden
10-07-2004, 08:47 AM
That's why he like them he said they wern't biased there main thing is ford but still they had a holden there :)

fpv_gtho
10-07-2004, 08:53 AM
i always took Herrod as a specific ford specialist, although they dont have much in the way of kits, you usually ring up and talk to Herrod personally about what goals you want. if you wan 400kw, he'll talk about a chip, extractors, cams, helix spacer etc and some more bolt onds, or the simple 8psi vortec :p

My brother is talking about a XR6T again, Now his got a real full time job he thinking about it again, But knowing my brother it wouldn't be 240kw for long :D

fpv_gtho
10-07-2004, 09:10 AM
haha yeah, nothing much is...i suppose he's still turned off the BOSS? those XR6T's are getting around though, im pretty sure Bluey's brothers got an XR6T ute

SlickHolden
10-08-2004, 02:19 AM
Yes he really doesn't think much of the boss, But he didn't think much of the BA ute on gas, Till they had a load of 1700kg + that they towed to the tip, He said he was then impressed by it, Done the job easy:)

Differn't hey :)

fpv_gtho
10-08-2004, 08:38 AM
yeah definately...its a whole new panel really which couldve cost alot, but alot of people are bound to say its a similar circumstance to the BA bonnet bulge...thing is though, the bulge was needed, and its on a wide spread of cars so it sums up better
