This is the Fujimi kit painted with a custom mix of House of Kolor lacquer.

I installed 18" Work Meister wheels and larger Brembo brakes.

The headlight housings and exhaust are made from aluminum tubing.

It isn't, it's just the angle. :)

I have a partially built 1/12 Lotus 49, and I have several of the larger kits but never seem to get to them.

Green. I'm planning to finish it before July so I can take it to the IPMS Nats.

Don't know how far I'll go with it, I'm mainly using the Nats as a motivation to finish it. And it's kind of a club deal too as a few of us are taking 1/12 F1 subjects.

I made it years ago and did close off all the unwanted holes, but I screwed up the nose cose by trying to paint the yellow part, which became asymetrical and was one continuing stripe, whereas the racing number has to sit in a totally green "island". I have a spare one sitting around but really don't know whether I am going to build it again

ok, I guess the model making companies don't make 1/18 scale build your own models, danm thats all my collection is. Well my collection is 1/18 scale but I didn't build em they are prebuilt and ready to buy. You might be able to call that cheating for your models but I'm not the only one. :D

All the different scales in the modeling world is a disaster, no rhyme or reason to the many scales. Never understood why 1/18 ended up being the popular size for diecast, there are no plastic models in that scale that I know of except for three old Tamiya kits.

Plastic kits are generally 1/43, 1/24, 1/20, 1/16, 1/12, 1/18.

That doesn't even cover them all, there are less significant models which have been made in 1/28 and 1/32.
