Love Mini's for autotests :)
Spot the narrow rears and they'll be up at 40-50 psi !!
To stick it on it's nose it will likely have racing beam axle rear - no subframe == no weight :)
Nice video.

Once you can chuck a Mini around it makes parking in the street easier ........

EDIT: Forgot this link - http://members.tripod.com/~HellBelly/russ.htm - has pictures of Russ' world record of parking a mini in a space only 33cm longer than the car :)

It's gotta suck if you try to beat a record like that but fail, if you know what I mean ;)

I saw that him do a tighter spot in a Mini once, wish I had a video link.

yeah, the Mini he was using in the video I took at Ingliston was for sale.
It was used in "The Avengers" movie.
Also, the red convertable was the last productino model and is very rare.
So he wasn't up for being too brave on the day - shame :)

I am not sure but judging from the size of the rear side windows, the whole car may have been shortened by a couple of inches, including the wheelbasae, which may have improved its already fantastic handling.

I missed that !! Well spotted, those bifocals are working well old man :)

Yes it's a shortened Mini - likely an autotest special.
It's deseamed as well.
The solid rear beam removes the need for the rear subframe and makes shortening or even more dramatic changes possible.

This is an incredible fun coincidence! That video is portughese and I know the men driving the car! The world is in fact incredibly small! :D:D:D

That's a portughese dexterity championship where strange cars and mad drivers are common. You should see the Hondas S800 (RWD) with modern bike engines. Amazing!!

Yes the car is in fact shortened as almost every car in that kind of competition. There are Xsaras, Cinquecentos, Honda 600 and Daihatsu cutted. There is also an MKI Escort, various BMW 2002 and an old Toyota Corolla with the chassis shortened. It hurts just to look at them...
