it's just another P2P (Peer to Peer) file transfer method, similar to Kazaa. it's more efficient than Kazaa in my opinion. as you're dowloading from other users (usually lots of them simultaneously) others can download that same file from you, even before it's completely done. therefore the transfer rates are usually awesome. it doesn't have as many single songs as Kazaa and others have, but there are more complete albums available. you can also download torrents from more than one site, unlike Kazaa.

don't. i had bit torrent so i could get the 5th Gear and Top Gear eps from viper bond's site and got so many more port scans and dns attacks. Also managed to get a virus through it (still to this day i don't know how)...
