wow, all three are 2-time Le-mans winners I think. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

The Audi R8 wins 4 times (2000, 2001, 2002, 2004) but not with Gulf sponsoring
The Ford GT40 wins 4 times (1966, 1967, 1968, 1969)
The Porsche 917 wins 2 times (1970, 1971)

The Gulf paint scheme is not only one of the most glorious as also one of the most beautiful.

I dream about racing an Elan MKI with Gulf colors!

Just like that! So simply perfec isn't it?
It just how I like cars: only the necessary specs, only the necessary size and weight. That's because I love this car that I'm swaping my 206 for MKI MX-5. It's the closest I can reach. :(

got some more gulfs, 917 and 908/3, and Ford GT40, the vague 917 was taken at the Spa museum many years ago.

:)
Maybe we should try to see if we can get another picture on to their POTD and the CHALLENGE is for it to say supercars.net sucks somewhere in the image and see if they miss it :)
Course, chances are 'we' borrowed it from somewhere elase already :)

that particular model of the ford GT40 only won lemans in 1966 i think. the Mk4 won in 1968. correct me if i'm wrong, but i don't remember the date exactly.

The GT40 shown is most likely chassis #1075, which won Le Mans in 1968 en 1969.

No. Didn't get it there. What makes you think Fast-Autos.net has there own special photos? I wouldn't trust there specifications either, but hey..overall, a lot of interesting cars. To bad there isn't much to read, adn I'm not talking about press releases.
