Yeah so this is my everyday car. It's my dad's really, but I use it as my own. And yes, the ICE is installed by me.

Enjoy!

Beautiful car. Has it been in your family for a while?

When I get my licence, I get my dad's '65 PV544 Sport. That's a nice Volvo. I plan to make it rally-spec (up to 120 hp from 85, and disk brakes)

No actually it hasn't. We traded a Volvo 142 for it a few months before my eighteenth birthday. So I have been driving it almost every day, at least a couple of times every week, ever since I got my license.

If you need any of the information from the link translated, I shall gladly help.

Turbonutter: My dad has formed a small club for those who are interested in and/or own an old Volvo. One of the members drives a 544, only he has changed the stock 1.8 litre engine to the 2.0, fitted a double carburettor system with homemade filters to it, changed the cam axle and the exhaust system. It spits out around 140 HP, so there's lots of potential in this engine :D

I can only recommend that you change the single carburettor to a set of two. I had one mounted on this car once, and it was a clearly a noticeable difference. Unfortunately it also used a lot of extra gas this way. But besides from the awesomness of the sound (BOOOAAAARRP :D ) it was also much fun to just see how surprised other drivers could be, when the small Volvo suddenly "ran away" ;)

I think the Sport already has twin Weber carbs and puts out 85 horsepower. On a twisty country road, it's great (other than the brakes) and I can always fit bigger carbs.

I suppose you're right. My knowledge about the 544's are limited, as we do not have one ourselves. It should not take to long before we do though :)

When do you get your license? And where are you from?

License: 2 or 3 years, but permit in 1. And the car's in New England.
